Pats Fans React to Milton Trade

Well the Patriot's fans are more upset over them trading Milton than 9er fans were over them trading Trey.
Well he is here now, so they and we must accept it.
We should see him in PS, and can evaluate him.

I would like to know if shotty wanted him, and why they think he has potential, and how much
potential?
I wanted to draft a guy who in 2 years could maybe take over as starter.

Ha yeah.

I’d say best case scenario here is Dak gets hurt, Milton replaces him and balls out, then they talk Dak into a trade and roll with Uncle Milty.

I don’t see a scenario where this works out if Prescott doesn’t miss time. I admit that’s probably going to happen given that hammy, but I still say the timing was way off to bring in someone like this at this time….and if they weren’t confident in Dak, why sign him to a record deal and agree to a structure that doesn’t allow them to move on until at least year three?

Either rebuild or don’t. It’s always some half measure with these two that always falls short as a result.
Dak was too old, and had never played good in playoffs, and is getting a lot of injuries, so that is why the 60 mil a year
deal was just stupid.

Mike Reiss speculated that locker room dynamics had something to do with it. Still, A fourth rounder would have been better.

Look at AC already planting negative seeds about Milton because of a "speculation"!

Nobody can ever question ACs loyalty to Rayne Dakota Prescotta. Lol

Even Tad hasn't posted anything negative about Milton and he literally depends on Daks money for a living.

What QB is better than Milton on your list. Look at his highlights from last year. He was 10-10 on his first series. Scored a running TD and then did a standing back flip. Dak cannot do any of those things.

Well 1st stop looking at HL reels lol. I saw one on cooper rush posted here, and even he looked great ! lol
you have to watch whole games.
I havent seen him at all, but running QB's can be neutralized by good defenses.
It is better to have a guy who uses his brain and can throw accurately.

I watched a whole game , texas vs Michigan, and ewers looked good.
Not saying he is elite, but possibly a purdy caliber guy, which is good enough.

Is milton better than dak? well that is not a high bar lol, and I havent seen milton at all
so I cant say. But it is possible, and he is younger and healthy, and bigger, and can do back flips !
Maybe instead of romo's spin move, he can back flip out of sacks?

My good friend AC is in love, bro! lol

I mean to be fair to dumb and dumber Dak hadn't torn his hammy off the bone when they resigned him...meh thats the second time today i defended this FO now i need a stiff drink.
Hahaha nice….and that’s actually a fair point, but I’d then ask…what’s the real point of “waiting for leaves to fall” if youre not worried about injury? Point being they made the wrong call yet again as to who to wait on.

He would have signed him anyway (see Gallup, Steele), and his plan, if there is one, never seems to add up…but at least he is having fun with his kids.

As a Cowboys fan, I’d say I’m a lot more concerned about Milton getting the proper opportunity over his actual ability.

He needs reps, and absolutely the right staff.

It doesn’t work unless Dak gets hurt. They rooting for that? Should WE?

If I know Jerry this is his way of pushing Prescott more than finding a successor. Should have been done long ago but since when is this FO ahead of something?

There you go Coogy. Thread topic for tomorrow. Successor or some lame attempt to make Prescott become something he isn’t?

Somewhere there's an ex-head coach thinking, "oh sure, NOW they pick up a QB worth developing."

I now have something to look forward to from the Cowboys... Milton's QB performance in the preseason. Only 4 months away. Yipee! :oldcouple:

I was listening to NFL Radio today and they suggested the Pats agreed to trade him to a team where he may have a chance to play some. Let's face it, Dak has had serious injuries the last 2 years, so perhaps they thought there was a chance here. Just not sure he can be our backup right away though was the common discussion

Pats should have shown more patience in his development. A mistake.

This is going to come back to haunt the Patriots. Probably soon when Drake gets injured, Dobbs is not even as good as Brissett, and there is an undrafted rookie as emergency QB.

Milton showed significant improvement in year one. He was traded for less than it cost the Pats to draft him. So, why did the Pats draft him in the first place?

We always overrate our team’s talent when someone is let go, only to find they don’t do much elsewhere.

Still, this one is a bit of a head scratcher considering that Maye’s aggressive style has already made him injury prone.

Time will tell, not much of a market for third string QB's with one meaningless game experience.

So it would have better to sit on him at a low cost versus a 5th round comp pick who at best will be a special teamer.

This is a very bad trade. Drake Maye had 2 concussions last year. We should have at least gone the season with Milton as insurance . His contract cost us little also the returns are not enough. We have basically upgraded the cowboys QB room so that its better than ours all for a 5th rounder

Can we have this as a Trolling the Nation? We didn't get in all last season.

Not really. Its just that some of the Pats players wanted Milton to get a shot at starting and some wanted Maye. Getting rid of one of them helps the locker room

If Dak is healthy he isn't getting snaps unless he runs the scout team. I am hoping he does a Romo and accelerates his development.

My post had nothing to do with Dak. I've never been shy to show support for Dak, but since I didn't, it is crystal clear Dak lives in your hateful heart 24/7.

Go get help (including those who liked your ignorant comment). ASAP

SMH

Milton has to be the back up . Dresses on game ready to go in if needed . Given the bushel of comp picks Dallas had this is really no risk . What I can’t figure out is why NE dumped him for Josh Dobbs a career journeyman .

I like the trade from the perspective of possible accountability for Dak . Start sailing the ball into the hands of safeties struggle against better teams have red zone misery maybe Schott goes to the bullpen .
