Pats going undefeated is a blessing in disguise

From the Cowboys perspective, we don't care what the Pats do in the regular season- it doesn't affect our standings, whether we get homefield or not, etc.

However, imagine the enormous amount of pressure that'll be on the Pats if they manage to get to the super bowl at 18-0.

How many times have we seen a team choke (i.e. Illinois basketball team a few years ago) with a chance to do something that no other team has accomplished in the modern era.

If the Pats lose a game, then I think the pressure is completely off of them at that point. They will be just like the Colts, Cowboys, and Packers. They will still be the favorite, but noone would be completely shocked if they lost the super bowl.

If the Cowboys manage to get to the super bowl, then I think an undefeated Pats team would be better to face than an 17-1 team. Noone will expect the Cowboys to win that game-- kinda like the Pats vs. the Rams in 2001.

As much as I'd like to see a rematch in the SuperBowl...it wouldn't hurt my feelings if the Patsies went 16-1. lol

Couldnt agree with you more. The presssure would be immense.

Although my primary desire for them to make it to Tempe undefeated is to give us a chance at the greatest glory possible.

It would be a can't lose proposition for the Cowboys. There's no shame in losing to the almighty cheaters, since they're so great, right? But if we beat them, we'll be so on top of the world it'll be unbelievable. All of that being said, I wouldn't be satisfied with a Super Bowl loss, no matter who it's against.

If you have never experienced it, I can tell you that losing a Super Bowl really really sucks. I still can't get over the ones we have lost. Those were clear back in the 70's.

No to mention the fact that they have to play their frontline players for all 16 games and that will hurt them as they have old players primarily in Def.

I think all this undefeated business is becoming a distraction to the Pats. The media constantly talks about it and it is part of every interview they do with Pats players I would think all this talk about the perfect season weighs heavy after a while

I hope the Pats go 16-0, grow overconfident, then lose in the playoffs.

This may seem cowardly to some of you, but I really do not like the idea of facing the Cheaters in Arizona. Sure, us beating an undefeated Patriots team would easily be the greatest victory in the history of our storied franchise, but I'm realistic to a fault. They have already shown they can beat us with ease this season. Yes, the Cowboys were in it, but when the 4th quarter rolled around and it came time to man up, the Patriots hit the gas and we folded like a lawn chair. I'm usually beside myself after a loss, but I hardly flinched after the Pats game because I knew going into it they were just too good.

I recognize things have changed since then. We've added Tank, our secondary is playing better, and the defense has just improved overall. The pats have lost Colvin and their age seems to be catching up with them. I'm certainly not saying it's an automatic loss if we face them in February as I think we give them the best challenge, but they're easily the best team to come along in over a decade. They're on the verge of making history for a reason.

Or it might just be the fact that I wouldn't be able to handle a Super Bowl loss. I've only been alive for our past 3 Super Bowls and we all know how those turned out. I've never experienced the pain of losing the big game, and a loss would just crush me. I'm talking not being able to get out of bed, force myself to eat type of pain.

Except for the fact that if we knocked off the undefeated Patriots, all people would ever talk about is how the Patriots choked. Not how the Cowboys won the Super Bowl.

I was thinking the same thing last night. It's better if the Pats go 16-0 becuase then they'll be filled with praise and hype for overshaddowing the Dolphins. Their heads wil get pumped up, so much so that Randy moss will become his lazy old self again, put it on cruise-control in the playooffs and find himself costing his team the SuperBowl to a Cowboy team that plays detemined to beat them (and they know they can).

100% true. However, I would enjoy reading those stories.

The Pats are not exactly hitting the gas now. They're starting to look gassed.

16-1 sounds better to me. they are a tough team and if they got knocked off in the playoffs it sure would'nt hurt my feelings.
i agree that IF we get to the super bowl and they do too, the pressure will be on them.
but i also agree that the pain of loosing a super bowl is hard to get over.most here have probably never experienced the pain but it never goes away

I was too young to remember Super Bowl V, but I was crushed after Super Bowl X and XIII. I was 9 for SB X and 12 for SB XIII...I cried both times.
