New England Patriots linebacker Jerod Mayo hurt his MCL in his left knee midway through the second quarter of Sunday's 31-19 win against the Raiders, according to multiple reports.
He is expected to miss about a month, as reported by WBZ-TV in Boston.
Mayo needed attention on the field before being aided off the field by two trainers. He was unable to walk off the field with his teammates at halftime and was instead carted from the field.

"We'll look at it tomorrow and see where he's at going into this week," Patriots coach Bill Belichick said following the game.
Also, Patriots running back Danny Woodhead appeared to suffer a left ankle injury late in the first half. He did not return.
Woodhead hobbled to the sideline and was trying to walk off the injury before the intermission.
Woodhead had two carries for 13 yards in the first half. The Patriots had BenJarvus Green-Ellis and rookie Stevan Ridley to lean on in the backfield (along with rookie Shane Vereen).
In other injury news, Patriots defensive lineman Kyle Love suffered a right ankle injury in the first quarter of Sunday's game against the Raiders.
Love needed attention from the trainers before gingerly walking off the field on his own power. He soon returned to the locker room for examination, but was back on field for the first defensive series of the second half.
Thin already on depth on the line, the short loss of Love pushed veteran Gerard Warren -- re-signed earlier this week -- onto the field at defensive tackle.

........this would be the first opponent that's more banged up than we are....PLUS....they play a pissed off NY Jet team this week in a divisional grudge match. We got a great shot......probably.

If we play like we did in the first 35 minutes of yesterdays game for 60 minutes, we smash any opponent regardless of them being injured or not.

We play like we did the last 25 minutes of yesterdays game and the last 15 minutes of week 1's game than we lose no matter how injured our opposition is.

Nobody throws more TD passes in this league than Tony Romo right now. Problem is, he's throwing or setting them up for the other team just as much as for his own.

If the guys covered on 3-2 either run for it like he used to or throw it out of bounds. You're up 27-3 in the 3rd with the ball.

I don't care if Red was stupid enough to call a pass instead of a run, and he was. You can throw that ball out of bounds once you get out of the pocket.

It's not like Tony hasn't been burned on that same side on that same play many other times to learn from.

They still have 2 distinct advantages over us...a QB who is one of the best ever & a HC who actually knows what he is doing.

out for a month? :lmao2:

he will realize he is playing the Cowboys so a miraclous recovery is in order.

Just please give us our first string WRs back.
Agreed, I don't even want everyone back, just Miles.

....I couldn't agree more, but we better brace ourselves for the possibility Miles isn't back for the Pats...they're not saying so, but....this is obviously the same injury that put him our for the whole preseason..it's been two weeks now...three by the time we play the pats...no guarantee he'll make it.:bang2: :bang2: :bang2:

He could have played in the preseason, they chose not to play him.

It'll be 4 weeks not 3 weeks since he played last. He should be good to go and so should dez, who will not basically get 2 weeks off.

^^^^this. It will be four weeks. Not to mention Sensabaugh and Newman with concussions. Tyron Smith with the knee. Jenkins with the shoulder and knee. Romo with the ribs and lungs. Dez with the thigh. Felix with the shoulder. Scandrick with the ankle. The interior rookie OL who probably just need a mental and physical break. With the lockout and early bye is just what the doctor ordered for every team. Problem is not every team will get it. Some teams with late byes are simply going to lose 2 games they would not have had they had any early bye. We are almost getting a new team after they bye. The Pats game is not looking impossible. If you look at our first 5 opponents and you tell me we are 3-2 after that...I would take it. Has any team we will play in the first 5 lost more than 1 game?
