Two vet CB's , Bodden on a one year deal. Pats looking strong again IMO.
Oh and he has not been caught with a bazooka in his glove box.

The rich get richer.

Now all they need are Zach Thomas and Jason Taylor and they'll be ready for another Super Bowl trophy.

How the rest of the NFL just drops players into the Pats hands continues to amaze me.

Yeah man what are we gonna do without Leigh Bodden and Shawn Springs. It's only been Bodden's 3rd team in 6 seasons and Shawn Springs who only played 9 games last year.
Bodden was arrested in 2007.

On September 5, 2007, Bodden was arrested at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport following an incident in which he allegedly backed his 2004 GMC Yukon SUV into a parking spot in the airport's arrivals area.[1] Bodden was said to be at the airport to pick up his girlfriend and their children.
Cleveland police reported that Bodden failed to comply when asked to pull his vehicle over. When asked a second time by police, he reportedly did comply, but pulled his SUV into an illegal parking zone and left it there. Officers alleged that Bodden was verbally abusive when asked for his driver's license.
Bodden was released from jail after posting $1,000 bond and entered not guilty pleas to charges of resisting arrest, failing to comply with an officer and a traffic offense.
Bodden apologized for the incident on September 6, and did not face a team- or league-imposed suspension for conduct.

As per KFFL, for those interested . . . .

Patriots | Bodden agrees to terms
Tue, 10 Mar 2009 13:40:37 -0700

NFL.com reports the New England Patriots have agreed to terms with unrestricted free-agent CB Leigh Bodden (Lions) on a one-year deal worth $750,000, a league source told NFL.com's Vic Carucci.

Given our coaching staff ties to Bodden, I guess we had no interest.

Yeah Zach Thomas sure looked the hall of famer this past season...... even when the defense came on in the second half of the season he still was mediocre.

No argument here.

But I've seen the Patriots rescue veteran players off the scrap heap before and Wade Phillips can't shine Belichick's shoes as a football mind.

This is Leigh Boden we are talking about here, BTW. He is pretty much the embodiment of a JAG. Was he even the best DB at Cleveland. They were so bad its hard to remember all of who they had.

Bodden was actually a pretty well-regarded player until his trade to Detroit and was a good corner for the Browns.

For what the Patriots paid, he would certainly have been a welcome addition to the Cowboys.

At least in my opinion.

I think he took a one year deal to look good for 2010 - like a lot of other guys seem to be doing lately.

Yeah I know.

That's what makes it even more frustrating.

That the Patriots got a player I liked for next to nothing while the Cowboys have yet to replace the traded Anthony Henry.

I can step in.

I run a 5.0 and have a spectacular vertical of 20".

Jealous much? I thought so.

It doesn't matter if these guys sucked some where else, or if they were average, for whatever reason New England can take these types of players, plug them in, and get good to great results from them and continue to go on winning and winning.

This will help the Pats even when it might not have helped other teams.
