I think the pats did a very good job in the begining of the second. Pretty much every name they grabbed was one that made me say I wish we had him.

i think they are doing a damn good job!!!!! They are slowly worming there way out of a bad draft. Maybe Jerry should take a few notes!!!!

If we were in the same position as NE then we would have done the same. We have very similar drafting styles/philosophies. However, we actually need to draft some players this year to compete.

Thing is this gives the flexibility to pick anyone they want. If some out of this world prospect they want next year emerges, boom.

It would be nice if these draft experts would look at what the New England draft geniuses have done in the draft over the past few years.

They may masterfully manipulate the trading of picks, but the ones they actually use have been weak at best for the past three years or so.

It's a smart gameplan by the Patriots. They basically create leverage each year and if they need a player or whatever in the next draft, then they have the picks to trade up and get him.

However, if you look at the Pats over the past couple of years their drafts have been incredibly lackluster and I think a lot of it has to do with them 'over-doing' it when it comes to trading down.
