patsfans mock - Cowboys Picks

Hey there - just finished picking for the Cowboys in a patsfans.com mock. Here are my picks with a few comments.

1. Bruce Campbell, OT, Maryland
2. Nate Allen, S, South Florida
3. Zane Beadles, G, Utah
4. Marcus Easley, WR, Conneticut
6. David Reed, WR, Utah
7. Chris Marinelli, OL, Stanford

There was a run on tackles in the first and Iaputi was gone as well, so while Campbell wasn't a preferred choice, I felt he was good value there (pre-Flo release).

I was happy to have Allen available in the second.

Position scarcity led to the selection of Beadles in the third (over WR).

However a run on WR's left me with little to choose from in the fourth and a reach for Easley. Against my better judgement, I chose Easley over Reed, so when Reed was still available two rounds later, he was clearly the best player available.

Chris Marinelli is a practice squad project.

Knowing the plan was to release Flo, I would have gone Ducasse in the first and WR in the third and looked for something else (Muckelroy was available) in the fourth. So, what do you think?

I don't think Chris Marinelli is a practice squad project. He's a RT. I personally think he could compete with Columbo either this year or next and win. He's my sleeper this year.

Nate Allen at pick 59 would be a steal.

Yeah, no offense, but I only like then Allen pick and maybe Beadles.

If we get Chris Marinelli, I think my brother would be highly excited since he is very good freinds with his parents. His father has already told hime that who ever picks him and he makes the team, he wants my brother to go to some games with him.

Chris Marinelli performed very well for that school. Gerhart ran behind him quite a bit. Marinelli is big, plays with a real nasty streak, and very intelligent. Natural knee-bender too. Good working class, blue-collar kinda guy too. I'd looooove to have him on the Cowboys. Worst case scenario, he provides excellent backup.

He did have some shoulder injury that zapped him of his strength.
