good stuff Hong, keep 'em coming

I like Hubbard, is supposed to be a good route-runner, and is pretty explosive, good-not-great hands

wait is there really a 6'9 WR?

Edit: He's 5'10 not 6'9 big difference

I guess NFL.com made a typo.

Let's look for potential breakout players that are late in the draft.

Even "good hands" may be an overstatement for Hubbard, I think "kind of decent" may be more fitting lol. Really he does have a good amount of upside but he has a LOT of work to do. And he's also a pretty poor route runner by most accounts actually.

WRs coming off of new injuries who have inconsistent hands and need work on their route running spell trouble to me. The kid certainly is an athlete though.

Which is why I'd take Jake Ikegwounu in round 6, we could get a potential 1st round prospect and a future great corner if we take the risk, and we've ALWAYS take these kind of risks, most panning out by the way with Roger Staubach/Chad Hennings/Herschel Walker/Etc.!

I don't think any 6th round pick can have the future impact Ikegwounu can have!

There's not much to post. He was supposed to be one of the higher rated corners coming out this year (as were a couple of guys that slipped) but had a pretty horrible knee injury, so he may go undrafted since he is slated to miss the entire 2008-09 season rehabbing.

From Ikegwounu's point of view, he should hold out till he is well and go back in the draft (if that's possible) next year. The difference between fa money in 2008 and 1 or 2 in 2009. I want to get him, but he may not want to go cheap.

he looked good running routes during the Shrine game practices, and caught most of his passes, in fact, one of the guys who was placing rounds on some of the players after the practices, put him as a 4th round pick

but I agree w/ you, he has work to do, and I wouldn't take him w/ a pick higher than the 7th round

I doubt he's a 1 or 2nd round talent if he sits out, I think people have learned their lesson about kids that spend a year doing nothing. He already declared, so he can't even go back to school.

Jake Ikegwuonu CB Wisconsin #6
jack_ikegwuonu.jpg
Ht: 6'1
Wt: 202

wisconsin.gif
Strengths:Great size. Very physical; good at jamming receivers at the line of scrimmage without getting out of position. A playmaker in coverage. Weaknesses: Charged with burglary and trespassing for stealing a x-box in 2006. Lacks ideal speed. Tends to be overaggressive and bites on fakes. Tore his ACL, MCL and suffered damage to his knee cap during an offseason workout this January. He will reportedly miss the entire 2008 season and his ability to return after that is questionable. Comments: Ikegwuonu had the potential to be a 2nd or 3rd round selection this April prior to suffering a very serious knee injury. Now he will be lucky to get drafted at all. His knee injury is said to be worse than the one suffered by Willis McGahee and he has decidedly less potential than McGahee, meaning no one will be crazy enough to select him as high as McGahee was taken. No one will spend any more than a 5th rounder on a cornerback that may not see the field until 2009.
