During halftime of the Colts/Texans, Chris Mortensen mentioned Paul P when talking about the troubles in Dallas. Not an exact quote but he mentioned "keep an eye on him."

Can someone clear that up for me?
 
He was saying that if we do fire wade, that is one guy to keep an eye on for the interim coach.

Something tells me Chris Mortensen got Paul P's name from reading Yakuza Rich's posts on CowboysZone.

Don't think he's HC material, even interim material at this stage. DC though, possible.
 
Well it's just an interim coach...anything will be better than Wade to finish out the year. It's all about getting through the final two months. Don't know if the players will respond to Garrett and Campo. Maybe they will respond to Paul, who has a resume and experience
 
If he promotes Paul P instead of his $3 million dollar coordinator/co-head coach, he's obviously going to hire Garrett as HC and he's petrified of tarnishing Garrett's image with this team (too late for that).

I hope that's not his reasoning. He can either do it or he can't.

But with Jerry, this does make sense
 
supersticious, BUT, all one has to look is at what's happened in the past 3 years between the Dullphins, Jax and the Cowboys.

Did Jerry bother to ask anybody WHY Pasculini was FIRED from the Dullphins last year ? Here's why:

2009:

Defense total points allowed = 390 points ( ranked 25th )
Defensive TDs allowed passing = 23 ( ranked 15th )
Defensive TDs allowed rushing = 16 ( ranked 21st )
Total yards allowed = 5,589 ( 22nd )
Passing yards allowed = 3,754 ( 24th )
Rushing yards allowed = 1, 835 ( 18th )


Somebody, please, tell me why is this man BACK in Valley Ranch ?

and then there's Fifi the poodle, aka: Dave Campo..

They have to have pictures of Jerry doing something strange to a goat in order for them bein re-hired in the first place.
 
Paul P would get some sort of promotion if Wade were fired. Likely to D-coord since he's run a D before. Head coach? Doubt it. It would be Garrett unless he were canned as well.

Well Pasqualoni's first season as DC at Miami (2008), the team at least went from allowing 27 PPG the year before to just under 20 PPG. This was the Dolphins amazing 11-5 turnaround under Sparano, the man Jerry spurned in favor of the hiked skirt and scented thigh of Wade, and sadly, Garrett too. (Sorry Hos).

In 2009, the Dolphins drafted CBs in the first and third round I think, and Gibril Wilson was the big dog FA they signed. DBs were the sticking point in everyone's mind that kept them from playoff success in 2008. According to Dolphins fan boards when Pasqualoni was fired, he was under pressure to start/play these rooks and Wilson too in 2009 even though Wilson sucked madly and was a huge disappointment and the rooks went through rookie DB failure. ... Probably having something to do with playing an easy schedule in 2008, then playing the tough sked in 2009 they were rewarded for all their success in 2008.

The only other thing I know is that Spears said that Pasqualoni is very detail oriented, whereas Todd Grantham let you figure everything out for yourself. (I don't think this was a compliment for Grantham). Grasshopper, I have a koan for you, and please snatch the pebble from my hand.

That and Pasqualoni had good years / bowl years as HC in Syracuse then a long period of mediocrity.

Oh yeah, and folks on the Dolphins board also cited Pasqualoni's "vanilla" schemes as a factor in his firing. Others defended him because of his green-as-grass DBs he was kinda forced to play to justify their draft spots and he played vanilla to give them a chance to save their skins. At the same time, his run defense dropped worse than the pass defense (his second year) as far as league rating goes.

Maybe what this team needs is a big dose of vanilla. Everywhere. Yes, running "vanilla" weren't we 3-2 in preseason? Man I'm a pretty smart dude after all.
 
It's pretty clear whether it's Paul P. or someone else, that Jerrah is going to bring in an interim punching bag so Ginger can get the gig next year and start with a "clean slate". My God, what a clusterEFF of a charade. Just hating JJ these days.

Agreed. Jerry wants to be able to make his coaching announcement right after the Super Bowl so the spotlight will be back on the Cowboys.
