Paxton Lynch?

Wait, before the knee jerk, and hear me out. First, it is clear that our backup QBs are not ready to step in and win anything. I think White is destined for PS. And Rush is destined to be cut for a better backup. Second, while Lynch has shown absolutely nothing as a pro, he does have two years of camp under his belt. And obvious physical upside. Perhaps he was just miscast in DEN’s system and was anointed as potential starter when he was not ready. But in our new RPO-based system, with his mobility and big arm, and a great OL to cover up his shortcomings (game processing speed?), is he a better choice at backup QB than our current options? I’m quite sure he can be had for a conditional 7th right now. And once upon a time, we almost traded up into the first for him. Thoughts (beyond knee jerk “he sucks”. If not him, who is your option to trade for?)?

No. IMO you bring in someone like this during the offseason to see if they can produce in your system and not 1 week before the season starts.

I agree. If you bring Lynch in, you still have to bring in a vet you hope can get the job done if Dak goes down for some reason. Lynch ain't it. He's a project at best and we don't have the roster spots for that. White's not ready either but you have to hold on to him because he's a draft pick and might get nabbed on the waiver wire. 4 roster spots on QBs where only 2 are serviceable (with that vet not on the roster yet) doesn't make much sense.

God no, the guy is a bum and the word here in Denver is he doesn't put in the work either.

He got beat out by a 6th and 7th round pick, when the Broncos tried to do everything they could to hand him the job last year and back up role this season.

Give Lynch a shot

He's got more physical ability than any of our QB's , including Dak , and if he stinks up the joint those in the front office who resisted giving up the farm to draft him can tell Jerry to shut up about signal callers in the future.............................

Lynch hasn't even showed a spark of college Lynch... The guy is a bust... I mean there are times you can bring someone into a new system and they shine... but man... I don't think that is Lynch. Teebow did more then Lynch, bring him back lol. I would try and get RG3 before I got Lynch. But with the way Lamar is playing, they wouldn't get rid of RG3 either probably lol.

Some of the stuff I heard last off season was that he, Paxton, does not appear to want it enough.

You hear about young QBs coming onto a team and being Gym Rats, staying in the film rooms, constantly picking the coaches brains, working out with the WRs. Coming way before others to practice and staying way after others after practice. Word is...he came to practice on time put in his proverbial 9-5 and leaves when practice is over.

Does not put in the extra time like a QB that wants it.

Do not know if that has changed this off season but if it has not...Don't want him.

If he were a free agent I would have no problem bringing him in for a look. I wouldn't trade for him though.

Yuk! and then more Yuk! You must be kidding. If he can't play in Denver, he sure can't play in Dallas and we have no one to teach him how to play.
