Payday = Less production?

Collins, Jaylon played well, D-Law and Zeke were grinding, no lack of effort at all.
Zeke was handed the ball with no where to go, he was grinding his heart out for three yards, legs never stopped moving. Our Run game lacked creativity and our O-line was being beat

So is it me, but almost every player that has a big contract in the last 20 years has dropped in production the following years afterwards. I think this is what the Patriots has figured this out. Take a look at the comparisons below.

Guaranteed contracts are ruining the NFL. When you gaurantee some guys like DLAW 65 million dollars, what incentive is left? His primary goal of being rich for life is accomplished. He no longer has to go out and put forth the effort required to dominate. I think a lot of guys are like that.

FWIW, Tank only has half a sack more than Taco does for the year. Sacks aren't the sole indicator of a successful pass rush though. What worries me more is his "We Dat" crap he talked before the game, and then of course couldn't back it up.

I wish they all would just stop talking trash and act like grown men who are confident in what they are doing.

taco might end up with more sacks then demarcus. Wouldn't that sting. Wasted a first rounder on him and couldn't even trade him for a bag of chips. And he goes to the dolphins and gets 1 sack a week so far.

Even though I place small blame on the defense, I should be equally honest admitting I was occasionally yelling 'THERE'S THE $105 MILLION DOLLAR MAN!!!' from the start of the second half until almost the end of the game whenever the defense left the field. It is too bad I was too far away for Lawrence to have heard me.

My nonsense did make some Saints fans laugh though. One asked me what I was talking about. I told him. He laughed harder.

How do you know that being rich for life was his - or anyone else's - primary goal? It wasn't mine, and it usually isn't what drives competitors to be the best they can be.

there are others that contradict this, somrtimes its injuries or team make up but hey 2 eaxples recenty

Kahlil Mack not onlt got big money but they gave uo a lto to get him..Balling

AAron Donald big deal =Balling

Russell Wilson just got paid=balling

im sure its minor but hey LC is doing fine, Smith starting to come around and im betting Zeke after 16 games will have EE stats, Same with Tank.seriously, We are judging all this by a few games and its season you are judged on..

the biggest issue here is once you are paid you are under a microscope and being held to higher standard and to me thats not fair..as ling as they dont have big drop off and remain who they were in the first place..

Jaylon and Collins played good. Can't say the same about Zeke and "Tank."

Tyron- Nope he was good
Martin- Nope he was good
Witten- Nope he was good
Frederick- Nope he was good
Romo- Nope he was good
Sean Lee- Nope he was good
Crawford- Nope increased in every major statistic

I can't think of a single recent instance where we extended/resigned a player and then there play dipped that next season, without using a 4 game sample size except for Dez.

It balances itself out.
"Im paid like the 10th best ___ in the league, but I produce like I'm top 3". (Underpaid)
"Im paid like the best ___ in the league but play like 10th best" (Overpaid)

Tank's on pace for 10 sacks. He had 10.5 last year.
He's on pace for 4 turnovers. He forced 3 last year.
He's on pace for 24 QB hits. He had 23 last year.

Seriously guys. D-Law's production literally hasn't changed from last year, what's changed is your guys' expectations from him.
