Paye/Phillps

Paye at 44, MAYBE. Not before. AND HELL NO on Phillips. He's off my draft board. Too many medical issues .

I don't like Paye, to many Michigan fails for me to fall for that hype again. I see his tape and am not impressed at all.

Phillips is not off my board at all. He's the best pure pass rusher in this class and it's not even close. Adding him to our line would greatly improve this defense as a whole. A true pass rusher is one of the big 5 core pieces (QB, OT, CB, ED, WR) needed to be a good team. We haven't really had one since D Ware. Gregory isn't quite there and I can't count on him 100% anyway. I don't see any other edge rusher in this class that can be that guy, at least not day 1. He closely compares to the Watt bothers and is comparable to many of the top edge rushers that have gone top 10 over the past several years.
I know he has a history of concussions, but TBH I think it's overblown. There are rumors that his desire to get of UCLA, not even wanting to go there in the first place, played a huge role in what went down. His play at Miami validates those rumors.
If he checks out medically, I'd be considering him in rd 1 all day.

I like Phillips. Almost every player gets concussions at some point. Some are disclosed others are I'm sure withheld so players can play the following week. I don't know the exact extent of his last concussion that made him "retire" but he may of gotten spooked and retired prematurely rather than based off a neurologist/NS telling him to retire or his brain will be scrambled eggs the next time it bounces.

Paye is more of a edge contain guy...not gonna get around the corner. Just a heavy handed bull rush guy..but hes ok...just prefer not to draft him.

Ojulari is the guy who jumps out at you when you watch a game. He screams off the edge and has a knack for creating turnovers.

I haven't seen it will Phillips, though a lot of folks like him, and I could be just flat wrong.

The red flags on Phillips are pretty bright, on any case. You have both injury issues and questions regarding his passion for the game.
