I was thinking last night as I watched ESPN talking about NO's play under Payton this year. Isn't it ironic how Fassell is out on his deriere, and the guy he stripped down, beat down is now sitting pretty enjoying a fantastic and meteoric rise just as Fassell plummets to the depths of nowheresville after Billick canned his butt? Sweet irony , I say. Good job, there, Jimmy boy. Way to be! Idiot.

Its a little early to truly tell.... but I hear ya and was thinking same thing....

have the head coaches been holding Payton back?

You gotta hand it to him... for all the excuses made about new players on our team and new coaches and not knowing this offense and not knowing this play..... Payton is in his first year, a new coach to a new team with new players and three starting rookies....so.....

BP is here 4 years.... well..... and.... ya know..... "show me the money" Jerry(Macguire)Jones

You know the really amazing thing is the Saints looked so bad when we beat them in preseason, they got some of our lb and now they are fo real. They have a come a long way in a short time, man we should have got Drew Bees, you gotta admit he is flat out awsome, he makes quick decisions unlike "the statute" we have..

Speaking of showing money...where'd you put yours if the Cowboys were playing the Saints this week on Monday night instead of the Giants?

I like Payton, and I like the Saints. I think I'll wait to see how their season finishes up before I say much more on the topic.

This is interesting. Payton really liked Romo. Maybe it was they both attended the same school thing, but I think it's probably more than that. Perhaps his choosing of Brees to run his offense and his success in it bodes well for Romo's prospects.

Bush, McAllister, and Brees, and a coach who understands exactly how to use them. No team in the league uses it's RB's in the passing game more than the Saints. Not coincidentally, no team has allowed fewer sacks (most pass attempts per sack).

I was very critical of Payton in his time here as the playcaller of the O but i gotta admit i was wrong. to be honest im starting to think Parcells heavily influenced Payton's playcalling threatening him probably to be more conservetive. i would have loved to have seen how good of job he would have done here if it werent for parcells

When you have the likes of Bush, and Duece in the back field, and a QB like Brees who has a quick realse and make good descions under pressure, its amazing how good an offense can be.
