Not sure I buy into the conspiracy theory that the refs and Roger G. have it in for us (well, RG does), but we’re the most penalized team in the league right now:

Avg. Per Game: 8.3
Last Game: 11
Last 3: 10.3
Home: 6.3
Away: 9.8

2020 Avg: 6.0

I’ll say this: We either fix this or we’ll lose games due to penalties. We’ve already been fortunate and have overcome some penalties that could have easily dealt us an L (last night was one such game).

I know some will blame coaching, some will blame the players, and some the refs. The truth is that it’s a mixture of the three. I HATED the RG PF call last night, and the notion that the no call on LVE somehow ‘evened it out’ doesn’t sit well with me. RG shouldn’t have drawn the flag, LVE should have.

I wish the NFL (and MLB) publicly graded the refs the way the NBA does. It has put a better product on the floor in the NBA.

Another penalty gripe: I’m over these PI calls in the end zone being spot fouls. PI on a ball thrown from 20+? Ball at the 10. Inside the 20? Half the distance. Not saying the college rule should be used, but it needs tweaking at the pro level. Maybe half the distance from WHEREVER it occurs if the spot of the foul is more than half the distance.

AND GET OFF MY LAWN!!!!!!

That’s all.

McCarthy mentioned it in post game that while winning is great they know they need to continue to clean things like this up, getting way too many penalties

There is almost certainly no conspiracy.

Cowboys are a love ‘em or hate ‘em team. Most fans have an opinion one way or the other about America’s Team. Lots of refs are probably in the hate ‘em group.

Even when folks try their earnest best to be neutral and fair, they act on their preferences. I think this results in the Cowboys being, perennially, one of the most penalized teams.

I don't think it is a conspiracy but I have seen the Cowboys called for a lot of BS penalties, but I have seen the same all over the league. I think they need to loosen up the offensive holding calls. If arms get tangled up over the defenders head or an arm let it go. If the offensive lineman is primarily in front of the defensive player then hold the flag. If the OL grabs to prevent the defender from moving laterally, or if he tackles or attempts to tackle the defender, then call holding.

The league has decided (foolishly IMO) to get stricter on holding calls. It’s become a flag fest league wide and I hate it. Call holding on egregious violations. Otherwise, let em play! When the refs become “stars” in a game, we all lose.

Make a change at left guard and watch this number dwindle

Not sure what his problem is this year. He’s had 7 holding calls through seven games (zero false starts). He started 16 games last year and had a total of 3 holding calls (2 false starts) all season.

Those 3 personal foul penalties are bogus.

But frankly, I knew it was coming. The refs are so predictable on who they favor to win or lose.

It's not a conspiracy. It's scripted.

Face it. The refs just do not like us. They know they can get away with it since Goddell is commish.

3/4 belong to Williams

That and all the %*#$#* unnecessary roughness type penalties and we're probably middle of the pack.

Funny how winning cures "dumb play." If we're losing, I guarantee every tenth thread at Zone is about stupid penalties. LOL

We are our own worse enemy. The difference this year is we are outplaying our own mistakes.

In my opinion, Dallas has become more aggressive on both sides of the ball. No longer are they allowing teams to slap them around on the field. McCarthy, will say one thing in public, but among the team, he is telling them to bust skulls. They still must play smart but don't let up off the gas.

Well there have been some very question holding calls on Williams so I can't put all the blame on him.
