Flag flag flag, i'm not one to blame the refs, at times they do make calls that favor the other team. Then on the other hand, we shoot ourselves in the foot with stupid mistakes (Offsides, False Start, Holding, Illegal Block in the back etc) How do we get these fixed to help ourselves out in the long run? Please give your thoughts

It wasn't an issue until last week. Hopefully it's an outlier. I do believe there is inevitable carry over from that game, but penalties shouldn't be ongoing.

holding can be called on every play, it's used now to keep scores close and for gambling reasons. shrugs, it is what it is.

It's the pre-snap flags that drive me crazy. No discipline. Be smarter.

Next up would be the holding calls. Sometimes I see the replay and just SMH and wonder what they are thinking.

Penalties are the most over blown B.S. in football.
It's not how many it's when you have penalties that are an issue.
If, you look at penalty leaders each year, usually more than have of the top 10 are playoff teams.

Pre-Snap Penalties Offensive penalties are a problem however, penalties of aggression are an acceptable trade off of playing hard and fast.

I remember some old school coaches I had used to say most penalties are a result of a lack of mental focus. Lazy mental mistakes. That certainly seems to match what the Cowboys seemed to be doing last Sun. Poor focus and lazy mental mistakes. Pre-snap penalties exemplify this.

For example, lining up offsides on defense is mind numbingly stupid. Middle school kids know better.

the players said when the billionaires pay them more they will learn the penalties and give more effort. A couple million a year would barely keep me interested in getting better. shrugs.

Someone posted last week that false starts were called more often in Cardinals Stadium than any other. I thought at the time what a weird stat.

Then game time comes.....

The LT was thinking "Oh **** my guy is going to hit Dak again"..lol he whiffed a couple times AND flat out went the wrong direction a couple times to block no one.. hopefully that game was a learning exp because sounds like he will get a second chance this Sunday.

I look at the Cardinals game as an anomaly. The refs were not calling the game evenly. If the offsides call on the FG didn't demonstrate what I am saying then there is nothing else I can say. I understand that penalty in the long run probably didn't matter, but it does indicate the refs were looking too hard for reasons to throw flags against Dallas in the first half. Then later, the picked up flag in the end zone, which was clearly a penalty by the official rules, demonstrates the point even more. I do no think every crew will call the game that way, but we know now there are at least 2 crews that will, Hochuli being the other.

In reality, the Cowboys gained more yards than Arizona and 185 of them on the ground. That should be enough to win every game. The penalties hurt but the penalties in the end zone that were not called Hurt even more.

It’s been an issue in previous seasons. It may not have shown up in the first two games because we had everything going our way. The Cowboys have a pattern of being undisciplined and showing a lack of focus. Just when you think we have something corrected, it starts to rear it’s ugly head again. We’ll see how the rest of the season plays out.

I just wish the Refs kept the same energy for the other team. Either let them play or flag both teams

What concerns me is them selling out to rush the passer. They got caught last week and now they will adjust. The run defense will be better but the pass rush isn't nearly as elite as it appeared. I'm expecting a good, not dominant defense ros.
