Fanspeak is entertaining and a way to get familiar with some of the names in the draft. Are the mock drafts realistic? Most probably aren't. However, how many so-called draft experts even end up getting the 1st round half way correct?
Did you look at the video? Tell me I am wrong about the popular pick, I'd rather take Taven Bryan than that.People who assume people are stupid based on them using a mock draft generator are stupid....![]()
Oh I agree, I don't watch college and for getting use to all the players' names it is great to use as many times as possible early on.Fanspeak is entertaining and a way to get familiar with some of the names in the draft. I was responding to your title...I'm at work so I can't watch any videos now.Did you look at the video? Tell me I am wrong about the popular pick, I'd rather take Taven Bryan than that.
I've used it a ton, but Harrison Phillips is what they chose at 19.I was responding to your title...I'm at work so I can't watch any videos now.
For me, playing with fanspeak is about a few things, none of which has anything to do with what I think will happen in reality:
1. I'm at work and it is one of the few things I can do to kill time.
2. It's better than assembling a mock based on who you think will be there; when we used to do this it was even more unrealistic. At least with fanspeak it keeps things to a certain degree within reason. And it really depends on which Big Board you use when using fanspeak. If you don't know what I mean by that, that tells me you yourself have never used fanspeak. You should check it out yourself, before calling other people out.
3. This year it is particularly unrealistic because unless you buy the premium edition, you can't trade and there is no way the Cowboys are staying put with 10 picks that won't make the team. But it is still an educational experience because in doing so it forces you to get to know prospects towards the bottom of the draft...that is if you do as I do and actually run the 7 round simulator.
Of those who use it, I don't think anyone is saying this is what they think the Cowboys will do; that truly is hard to figure with the benefit of their own Big Board. But like I said, it forces you to get to know other prospects because if you haven't been using it, I promise you you'll be pulling your hair out by round 4 as everyone prospect you know will likely be gone.
I've used it a ton, but Harrison Phillips is what they chose at 19.

yup, which board you use matters a lot.Lol. Okay, but your title was misleading. Just saying...
I did one a moment ago using the CBS Big Board and they had the Jets take James Washington WR 3rd overall. As soon as I saw that I knew it was time to switch up my big board. The NFL Draft one looks pretty legit...but what do I know...![]()
disagree mightily.First-Pick, on the other hand, is actually good with mock draft simulators.
disagree mightily.
first-pick forces you to sign up... which i did... slightly annoying to keep up with login creds and hand out email.
then the actual mock offers you trades... like actual example my pick 19 for bengals 21 and 46.. lol.
that's insane. totally ruins any reality of the draft.
but ok.. so swear off their trades.
then i try to draft... clock best available to try and get workable list but it's like 25 guys rated 1st Day , and 2nd day.
nuts and i gotta go through them all one by one.
Select Matt McGlinchey OT ND. He's prolly a top 10 pick but that's not crazy that he fell.
Go to round 2 and again ignore the insanely favorable trades.
But there's another 25 guys. only 1 is graded round 1, a RB.. ignore, ALL the rest are graded equally day 2 (round 2/3).
So I gotta go through list carefully... and I take Courtland Sutton who is still there.
Round 3 I again ignore trades cause so imbalanced...
Again a full list of guys rated day 2.
It's pretty much totally up to me whom to draft because there's no real decent ranking system.
Sort by posiiton and go ILB.
Only Day 2 guy left is Josey Jewel so I take him.
Haul isn't bad, but that's mostly because I've done a million draft mocks and have an idea of what and whom I want.
But it's definitely not as user friendly as fanspeak.
