Romo's won't be far off that if he's going to stick around here. That ~100mil range is the new going rate for franchise quality QBs.wittenacious;4469954 said:Big bucks deal, alright. Romo's contract is a bargain, by comparison. Glad we weren't having to bid for Peyton's services.

I like him -- but certainly his window for success is closing -- maybe not rapidly -- but certainly drawing to a close.

Quality QBs don't get any cheaper as time goes by, do they? The cap should be a lot higher by the time we face extending Romo at least. What's he signed through ... 2013? Longer? Gotta look it up.SDCowboy85;4469960 said:Romo's won't be far off that if he's going to stick around here. That ~100mil range is the new going rate for franchise quality QBs.
If he continues to play at his current level and stays relatively healthy, yes. He'll only be 32 when his contract is up. If you're a team and you don't extend a 32y/o QB who averages 30TDs and over 4,000yrds a season, you don't ever want to succeed.Gossamer;4469973 said:Do you believe that Tony Romo will be worth paying another 5yr/100million dollar deal?

Agreed. At 32, and if healthy, JJ'll extend Romo's contract in some way, shape or form. Never makes it to free agency. I'd bet on it.SDCowboy85;4469997 said:If he continues to play at his current level and stays relatively healthy, yes. He'll only be 32 when his contract is up. On the lunch break they were touching on the subject. These guys are so dumb it's unreal. They said Romo is going to be 34 next season.wittenacious;4470014 said:Agreed. At 32, and if healthy, JJ'll extend Romo's contract in some way, shape or form. Never makes it to free agency. I'd bet on it.
Romo signed through 2013 on his current contract. I looked it up.
