Graziano says source with knowledge has told him that John Mara owner of the Giants and chairman of the competition committee was the driving force behind punishing the boys and skins.

Some competition committee.

Seems just a little hypocritical

Since Wellington died, it seems like the Mara's have become obsessed with the Cowboys. Always talking about them even when they win the Superbowl.

As I said in the other thread, just lost a ton of respect for that man.

Shouldn't a competition committee be led by an unbiased hand? What a joke.

This explains why most other teams were let off the hook (Saints, Raiders).

and how odd - the only teams hit are in the same division.

wonder how the eagles escaped.

Good, now we can throw conflict of interest in there if we choose to fight this in court.

deniability on Mara's part I assume, he had to let one team in the division slide. Im only half kidding.

well what just sucks is how totally unfair this is and all the "deal making" going on. this is just wrong. everything being done to protect reasons you simply don't have.

if the cap is going down then does that mean revenue is dropping? if revenue is dropping this is just a band aide and doesn't address, only aggrevates the problem.

it seems like it's done to:
pick on 2 high visibility teams
keep a cap # artificially high
give mara some giggles

we all agree it's frustrating to see the league punish ANYONE 2 years after THEY approved of the deals to begin with.

this is really just pushing people away from football as this time the scandal is at the very top and obviously done for all the wrong reasons and simply doesn't hold every team to the same accountability.

to shut us up they will probably throw us another Super bowl soon. Maybe throw in a seat planner too :)

Worse yet, what kind of backlash would Jerry be receiving if the shoe was on the other foot and he was pushing for these sort of sanctions against division rivals. I think the other owners can justify it because we are the top two grossing teams in the league as convaluted as that way of thinking is.

This whole thing is disturbing to me and it just keeps getting more suspect.
