He still continues to stick to his coverage schemes he designed for Steve Smith. Now that arguably the best Receiver has been ejected, he has to change his game plan to go after the 2nd biggest threat the Panthers have, Jake Delhomme.

He is getting too much time to throw and we should become alot more aggressive now that Smith is gone.

Why does this guy not understand that you have to adjust your gameplan...

That wasn't the problem. Carolina wasn't getting any yardage against the defense after Smith went out. It wasn't until Roy got hurt and they were stuck with Davis and Pile at the safety positions did they score the TD.

The defense played pretty well today.

Most of the time adding players or coaches to your team improves it. But this is one of the few times that losing someone like Zimmer would IMPROVE the team.

sorry

ah, much better

Defense played well.

I just didnt understand why Zimmer was still sticking to his game plan as far as playing off and doubling when the reason for this game plan had been eliminated.

Don't give credit to one of the best quarterbacks in the fourth quarter this season.

That wouldn't fit with your agenda.

He played off because he had Pile and Davis as his safeties. Pile is barely serviceable in coverage. Davis is often horrendous. I wouldn't want to put them in too many one-on-one situations and would prefer to see them in zone coverage if I was the D-Coordinator.
