In an attempt to move this board past the Dak Prescott debate, which I realize is imposible but don’t blame me for trying, what would be your dream offseason?

Of course, Dak is a part of that, but give me who you’d like to see starting for the team in September.

Who is your NFC championship team squad?

QB: Dak Prescott*
(Resigned to a team friendly deal)
RB: Ezekiel Elliott
WR: Amari Cooper
WR: CeeDee Lamb
WR: Michael Gallup
TE: Jonnu Smith*
(Signed in FA. Would love this move)
OT: Tyron Smith
OG: Zack Martin
C; Tyler Biadasz
OG: Connor Williams
OT: La’el Collins

DE: DeMarcus Lawrence
DT: Neville Gallimore
DT: Daviyon Nixon**
DE: Randy Gregory
LB: Jaylon Smith
LB: Leighton Vander Esch
LB: Micah Parsons**
CB: Trevon Diggs
FS: Cody Davis*
SS: Donavon Wilson:
CB: Chidobe Awuzie*

K: Greg Zeurlein
P: Hunter Niswander

When was the last time Dallas had a perfect offseason?

I'm gonna be honest with you.......last year when we got rid of Garrett for McCarthy....signed McCoy and Poe....Dalton for Rush.......Aldon Smith for cheap....got rid of Heath and got Haha.....drafted Lamb and Diggs......then managed to get Griffen from the Vikings....I thought damn....this might be it........

Damn was I wrong lol......

No way to find out how good an off-season is without actually going through the season, so the perfect off-season to me would be a shorter one ;)

Rather have one of the CBs with the 10th pick over Parsons or trade down. So basically we didn't really add much in the offseason and were rolling with Gallimore in the middle. But on a brighter note I'm glad Jones is no longer the punter.

I was ok with McCarthy (I badly wanted Urban Meyer first, and Matt Rhule if Meyer wouldn’t come). I think McCarthy has some good things about him and I expect him to do a much better job this year.

However, I did not feel very good about Haha and Poe. Neither of them is anything at all like I feel the team needs to do in free agency. I expected nothing from them and that is exactly what we got from them. I also had some doubts about McCoy, although I had hoped for the best.

I thought Dalton was a good move and I liked Aldon, although I wasn’t sure he’d make it. I never thought Heath was as bad as people said although I wanted an upgrade.

I also very much liked the Griffen move. I thought that would pay off. *ahem*

I loved the draft though, and still do.

so, some of the offseason was good last year but I hated the free agency move to age and has been’s. They need to stay away from that this year.

I hope they kill it in the draft again though.

The offense looks ok, it “could” get us there but the defense still looks lacking big time. The defense only has one way to go from last year but I don’t think there’s enough they can change in one off season for this team to do something they haven’t done in ~25 years which is make a conference championship.

The offense has never been the problem, not recently at least, and there’s no reason to think they won’t be another top 5-10 offense this season barring a plethora of injuries again.

Still have serious doubts about MM as well and last year only enhanced those doubts.

Last off season was a "dream off season" for many of us. It shows how much we know. Lol

Only good things were garret being gone and dalton as a back up. Never understood the hype around anything else. Didnt expect much from the boys last season even without all the Injuries

I feel like a lot of teams end up in this conundrum, where they have one dominant unit and one trash unit. The Bears defense comes to mind. For the longest time the Saints defense, then the Chiefs defense was lackluster, the Colts back when their offense was firing ect.

The teams that are skilled enough to address the weak unit properly usually make some noise.

As bad as it is right now, I prefer have this scenario rather than mediocrity on both sides of the ball. Hopefully we go hard at defense this offseason and make that leap to contender.

The draft came with a lot of hype. Many of us were happy to get the DEs we got as well as the DTs. On the surface if looked nice. You're a better honest evaluators than me if you saw otherwise.

I liked the draft but the fa signings did nothing for me.

This draft would make me very happy.

Our pro personnel scouts have been meh for awhile.

We've have hit on a few. Quin, Cobb, Irving(kind of) and Alton off the tip of my head, but most of those were more middle tier type.

We strike out much more when we go bargain shopping.

A change in FA philosophy is sorely needed. I'd rather spend money on a couple real players and fill the rest of the roster with rookies than have a bunch of Nolan Carrol.

Yes we certainly misunderstood the power of a shortened offseason, Nolan at the defensive helm, followed by a boat load of injuries.

I'd rather try and sign dalvin Tomlinson if possible than that TE. And have Horn instead of Chido. Plus Grant at FS

Dak tag and trade
Draft QB
Two more OL, OG and OT , vía draft or FA
Run the football and
