I couldn't watch the game last night so I was reading the game thread. I could only take it for a few minutes.

Posters were crushing Dallas on a play by play basis. They had no objectivity. The game has to flow and develop. Some of the takes were utterly ridiculous.

No team will ever be perfect on offense, defense, and special teams every game, let alone every play.

Dallas has now made the playoffs in consecutive years since 2006, 2007.

Dallas has won 12 games in back to back season since 1994, 1995.

But literally every player, every coach, anybody associated with the team are the bottom of the barrel in the NFL. I think the only person not crucified is Maher, and God forbid he misses a big kick in the playoffs.

People stop, smell the roses. Can Dallas still lay an egg and end this season on a sour note, ABSOLUTELY! But as of today, things are ok. Enjoy it.

That's just what fans do in the heat of the moment.

It's clear you didn't see the game. Go watch it. You will see it's not all peaches and cream with the Cowboys.

Actually I have now watched the game. Yeah, Dallas didn't play their best, but they played worse against TB and Detroit this year. This wasn't as bad as most were talking about.

The only glaring bad part was the injury to Biadasz. Everything else can be worked on.

I don't disagree with this, but let me use a bowling analogy. In bowling a perfect game is 300, or a strike with every ball rolled, or 12 in a row. The pressure and nerves when you have already thrown 11 strikes and you are setting up to roll the last ball is like nothing you have ever experienced. The reason is because throwing 11 strikes in a row does not happen that often. Throwing 10 in a row is a long shot for a bowler. So after you roll that last ball and you know immediately if the ball has a chance for a strike or if you missed your mark, the feeling is not that you had a great game rolling a 290 something. The feeling is you blew a once in a rare opportunity for a perfect game. "I once bowled a 297" doesn't have the same ring to it as "I bowled a perfect game". You are eligible for a perfect score ring from the USBC for bowling a 300. You get a patch for getting close.

The point is, in the NFL getting to the playoffs is like 10 strikes in a row. It's hard to do and even if you go one and done, you still probably get a high score award. But you don't know when your team will get back to the playoffs. It might be years. I never expected Dallas to make the playoffs this year. But now that they are there, and considering the CAP situation, I think they need to make some noise this year because I don't know if they will get another chance for a while.
