AFter the stud, blue chippers like Berry and Thomas, I think the other safeties are just guys who weren't good enough to play CB.
Unless you get a safety you really love, you're better off taking a physical CB who drops because he's not quite fast enough, or not limber enough, or doesn't have recovery...then move him to safety and you probably have a better safety than the guys people are crowing about just because they're the 4th, 5th, or 6th best safeties.
It's Wade Phillips' defense...I trust him completely with the personel and how he plans to run it.
On offense, we took a WR and avoided O-linemen who were projects at the bottom of round 2. They say Ducasse doesn't get any push and doesn't bend his knees but can be developed. They say the kid from USC hasn't been playing football long, has athletic ability, but is a long way from ready for the field in the NFL. My guess is we probably rate Brewster from last year's draft higher than the guys many wanted to draft. I also guess we're bringing back Flo, or we want to bring in veteran backups so our season doesn't go down the toilet if someone is injured and we try to play a developmental lineman who hasn't been developed yet.
Brandon Williams, Brewster, Sean Lee, and Dez Bryant are already going to push 4 guys off the roster...who knows about Hodge, Hamlin, and others, along with the rest of the draft and free agency.
This is how it works when you're a good team...you aren't going to bring in a bunch of rookie starters, and you aren't going to gamble your whole season on a rookie/injury situation.
