Old timers remember the 1982 NFC Championship game when Joe Montana threw the pass to Dwight Clark that is now known as "the catch".

Montana and the 49ers would go on to their first of four Super Bowls while Montana would be hailed as the best ever until the arrival of one Tom Brady.

Here is what fans don't remember:

Montana threw three INT's and lost one fumble in that game. The guy defending Clark, rookie CB Everson Walls was having a great game with 2 INT's.

However, Walls will best be remembered as the other guy on all those still shots of the Catch.

I watched the game and to this day I am convinced that Montana, pinned to a sideline and chased by two DE's, was throwing the ball away but the pressure caused home to underthrow it to the back of the endzone where Clark grabbed it.

If you were to ask Cowboy fans about Tony Romo's most impressive wins there are actually those who will point to an early season game against the Bills in 2007 in which Romo threw 5 INT's but the Cowboys won in the end when he barely brought them into field goal position and Folk connected on a 53 yard field goal. Only 20 seconds prior to that the Cowboys recovered an onside kick.

It took measurable amount of luck to win those games, even though many consider those a signature games for the QB's involved.

However, both of those quarterbacks had to play hard enough to where that luck became relevant. This is what Jason Garrett was referring to as mentaly tough.

Neither Montana nor Romo allowed those errors to consume them. They battled on and kept their composure in the face of adversity.

Dak Prescott is mentally tough. While his mistakes early in the game consumed many fans it did not deter him from fighting back.

This is one of the attributes associated with players that have "it".

This is why he is a franchise quarterback.

I like Dak as a person and it's true ..he is a leader ..toughness and what not.. but with a better quality starting quarterback we would have won this game by probably three touchdowns.

It's actually kind of scary to think what kind of numbers Gallup and Cooper could put up. I mean we could be talking about Marino and the Marx Brothers kind of numbers.

linehan has been trying to control daks passing game all year. We came back but when he let it rip today its a disaster waiting to happen.

we got some breaks and he did well in the fourth

Hes good for a couple of picks and a fumble per game and they know that,

That is not a franchise qb

Dak reminds me of Eli Manning and the Giants when they had their SB run. Eli had a ton of mistakes that would typically sink the team, however his defense seemed to bail him out. They would get the ball back to him and he would make that one throw.

Tonight I loved him and hated him. At the end he got the job done, but all of us know, this one shouldn’t have been close at all, but I’ll take it.

That's the thing it shouldn't even have been close ..if he would not have overthrown Gallup on that slant I'm not so sure Gallup wouldn't have taken that all the way to the house.. that looked like it could have gone the way of Alvin Harper against San Fran in 92. Not to mention the horrible overthrows as well. But hey he did eventually get the job done... so Props to Dak..
