Haven't seen a pet cat thread yet.
so today ends the mini camp, then we have 5 weeks or so before TC starts. I know choices may change.

But who is your pet cat going into TC.

Right now I am thinking Boyd. I think he can offer something as a WR, and can fill, or eventually fill a lot of voids, as line him up different places. Maybe not this year, but in the next few years.

I'll stay away from; The two obvious Darmacus, becaues we need someone to presure to presure the qb in the worst way. And (for me) Matt Johnson, keep thinking there must be something special for him to last as long as he has-will we ever see it?

My Pet cat and dark horse is Ben Gardener

JC Copeland
Chris Whaley
Terrence Mitchell
Ben Malena

Nice list.
I think Whaley may be a next years choice though. I think he starts out on PUP, then possibly goes to IR. But like I said, 5 weeks until TC.

I hate to say it, but it's still Matt Johnson. Although he's losing favor with me. If I were him, I would have sought out the best possible therapists and experts on hamstrings and paid the money for it. Since he is still reportedly battling tight hamstrings, that tells me he didn't and that just disappoints me that he didn't take that initiative.

Other than that, my pet cat would be JC Copeland.

I didn't really think much of the pick at the time but Terrance Mitchell is already looking pretty good despite his late arrival.

  • It’s been a nice couple of practices for Terrance Mitchell missing the majority of practices due to his university being on the quarter system. Mitchell has normally been lining up on the right side at corner, but on Wednesday, he took some snaps on the left side in the nickel.

In the 7-on-7 period, Jamar Newsome tried to run a crossing route on him out of man coverage and Mitchell played it perfectly. He was able to avoid the pick of Tim Benford , who started his route right at him. Mitchell never lost sight of where Newsome was going and once they both arrived in the middle of the field, Mitchell was in ideal position to knock the ball away. It was the type of play that a rookie corner normally does not make because he gets distracted by the receiver trying to rub him out.

D Lawrence probably doesn't qualify as a pet cat being our 2nd pick, but I am most interested in watching his development.

Ken Bishop was my #2 pet cat in the entire draft; therefore, he has to be my top pet cat on the Cowboys' roster.

Having said that, I'm anxious to see many players.

What about this Patmon (Not sure about the spelling) guy. A secondary, not sure if corner or safety. He came out and turned heads and actually had some love from media types for a second, now I cant find a mention of him anywhere. He piqued my interest and I started wanting him to blossom to the point of not just making the team, but contributing.

He would be mine, but now I cant find him.

Offense: Washington, WR, Mizzou
Defense: Dixon, DB, Baylor
Special Teams: Ladouceur, LS, Canada

HM: Ben Malena, RB, Texas A&M. Has a shot to make us go long at RB. He's a short, stocky battering ram with speed.
