Over the past several years for some reason the clock operator seems to fail to restart the play clock properly. More times than not it seems to work against us. I did not notice for sure last night, but I am wondering if on the delay of game penalty we received last night if that was the case.

You might be right because there was no other excuse for a delay of game in that circumstance.

Even though Romo seemed to get the ball out earlier this year than in the past, but not by all that much it seems.
Last night working on the clock he was cutting it extremely close more than before. So I wouldn't doubt it was an actual delay of game.

But I can't say for sure on that one. But it was very close. too close as if it was a split second before, instead of 1 second. I still think 2 to 3 seconds is safe, but they don't do that. I always hated that, and still do.

That's a weak insult. That's all you can think of after last night? Gotta be more imaginative than that.

Jerry relays it to Stephen who relays it to Jerry Jr., who relays it to Spaulding....but somewhere in the mix are some JW Blue....

Truth. I seen at least twice in the 4th when we were trying to run the clock out that it never started, or stopped for no reason.

Romo was even talking to the ref towards the end of the game about the clock not running.

The referee is still ultimately responsible for the clock, so I'm not too sure if it's the home clock managment that is the problem (if there is one).

Yeah, I would have to think the NFL would have their reps in charge of the official clock

I noticed this last night as well. There were several times when it took 3-4 seconds to restart the clock. It was frustrating to say the least.

There was a clock stoppage in the 4th quarter where it should not have stopped. The refs tried to alleviate some of that by resetting the play clock to a specific amount of time on the play clock and then starting the game clock and winding both down concurrently. But there is really no excuse for that. Especially when it is working against the home team.

Yup, that was the 2nd time. The first happens about a minute before that. 6:40ish
