Yeah, but you know, it's just like, cool.
Like having some giant useless lizard in your house that you can't really interact with, but it's cool because it can eat live animals and just sit there and look cool.

The more useless the pet, (tarantula, snake, lizard) the more cool you are. Show it to your friends and let them see how cool you are. Don't worry about your kid's, as long as you're cool, that's all that matters.

The kind that requires it's own room.
My cousin had some useless monster in his house that required a room. You can't play with it, it won't keep you company, it will just occupy a room in your house and look cool, while posing a danger.

His wife made him get rid of it when they had a kid.

Just curious. I wonder if criminal charges are ever brought against parents who recklessly endanger their kid--and the kid actually is harmed or killed--by a known predatorial pet. I realize that the guilt alone would be pretty severe punishment, but it does raise the question.

I agree. A dog like the Pit Bull is trained they are not naturally mean dogs the snake is not trained it relies only on it's natural instinct.

It actually makes sense with the pit bull, but comes nowhere close for the snake. I don't understand trying to keep an animal that can kill you as a pet. Not only can kill you, but really has no reason not to eventually kill you as part of it's instinct. Dogs, cats, most fish and birds are not going to kill a person.

From my understanding it has become a big problem in Florida where the population of the Pythons is exploding in the Everglades. They are not indigenous to the area and have no known predators to contend with. These are some very dangerous animals.

Along those lines while watching Animal Planet one night I heard that there are more cobra bites in Florida than there are in Africa. Why would anyone want a cobra as a pet?

It actually makes sense with the pit bull, but comes nowhere close for the snake. I don't understand trying to keep an animal that can kill you as a pet. No doubt it is crazy the type of animals people bring into their home. Reptiles unlike mammals are not trainable however there are certain mammals that I think is pretty risky for people to have as well unless you are highly qualified to deal with them

You can't think for a second that a snake will behave like a goldfish and remain content just to sit in its bowl 24/7.

It's a damn snake for goodness sakes. What kind of sense is it to keep a "pet" which will kill you, but you don't take nearly enough precautions to prevent just that from happening?

Even if a goldfish decided to go on a freak out it is not going to hurt or kill someone. It just does not have the means to do so. A python does even if it is only once in a blue moon. These people were careless and stupid.
