Giants running back Brandon Jacobs, who stands 6-feet-4 and weighs 265 pounds, retaliated by bowling over 6-2, 212-pound Jets cornerback Pete Hunter after catching a short pass. At one point Coughlin yelled at Henderson from about 20 yards away, causing Henderson to respond, "That's the way we practice, coach. We put our hats on people." The two teams had a big fight.

Coach Coughlin, sigh. The annual Jets-Giants preseason game in a few weeks will now be a free-for-all.
