My worry is that while indeed it is clear Stephen is mostly running things now and McClay has good control of the player situation overall Jerry is still there.
And if he does decide to go through with picking someone against everyone elses advice he will do so. We will never know how close he was to taking Manziel.
And I wonder how much influence he had on us taking Gregory?

That to me is the problem. Fans love to turn to Jerry when a pick does not work out. If Jaylon Smith does not pan out I'm sure many will point to Jerry yet if Smith does turn out to be a great player we get to hear what great insight McCray and Stephen had in making the selection. Jerry does have final say I have yet to see anyone within the organization who has ever disputed that. I also know based on past comment Jerry will listen to all advice from those he has hired. All of the people who are in this circle are here for 1 reason Jerry Jones put them in those position. McCray did not hire himself. I will say any failures by McCray and Stephen falls on Jerry but by the same token those picks who succeed also fall on Jerry.

Unlike some here I will give Jerry blame and credit
