what i think is funny is that he says he doesn't want to give it very much coverage, but he gives it coverage in both his quote of the week section and then again in the tweet of the week section.. gimme a break..
That and he went on a rant on his show on Sirius.
King is a joke and has been for years. I give him credit for having some vetting of his sources and being honest instead of claiming speculation to be fact, but he's the type of reporter that speaks glowingly of media snitches...err, I mean sources and teams that kiss his behind.
A reporter should be able to put that aside and tell it like it really is. And he should get both sides of the story.
I'm not against wealthy people, but if they earned their money honestly, don't hurt people to obtain their wealth...then they can spend it however they deem necessary as far as I'm concerned.
The problem is when people make money dishonestly or unethically and trample over people and hurt people's lives over it.
One of the problems the economy has is that people are scared to spend money. Dez spends the money, the restaurant makes money, can pay its workers who can then spend that income on other businesses.
I'm not trying to say that it was a grand gesture by Dez, but it's hardly 'disgusting' because last I knew it is a free country. And I'll be wondering where Peter King is when Dez is doing charity events and visiting sick children's hospitals this year.
The only thing that I would say about this dinner is that pro athletes have an epidemic with going broke, particularly when they retire. So he should be a bit wiser with his money for his own sake. But it's like your kid spending all of his allowance on a video game. Not the smartest move and you hope they realize that so they won't repeat the same mistake, but hardly something to get outraged over.
Unless you're Peter King.
