Game of the Week
Giants 24, Cowboys 20.
Yes, Brandon Carr and Morris Claiborne are an upgrade over Whathisname and Whosthat at corner for Dallas, and Eli Manning will be held to fewer than 300 yards Wednesday night. But I don't like the condition of the Dallas pass catchers (and I don't know how effective Jason Witten will be even if he and his wounded spleen take the field), and I like the impact of David Wilson on this game. I wasn't crazy about the sameness of this matchup when the NFL announced it -- this is the third time in the last five regular season games they have met -- but, as usual, it's going to be a good game.

Am i the only one worried about Claiborne? He is really getting thrown in the fire and hasn't played alot in the offseason. I know he's a first round pick and all but he's going up against some really good receivers. I guess if he's as good as they say he is he'll be allright..;)

You can pretty much ignore the opinion of any so-called analyst who can't get through their first sentense without relying on some kind of slur as thei central point.

Of course the Giants are picked to win. They should be.

I'm curious, has ANY national writer has picked the Cowboys to win?

I just went to cbs sportsline and ALL EIGHT writers picked NY.
I picked the Cowboys in my office pool. :D

Re: Peter King... two things:

1. I like his work, in general.
2. He's guessing; gotta write something and recent history says the Giants are the safer pick.

No great insight here, one way or the other. Go Cowboys!

"Whats his name"? Jenkins and Newman were both pro bowlers. Hardly no name guys.

But i'll give him credit. At least the score is realistic.

Last year we relied on our #3 and #4 and sometime #5 CB to cover some good WRs adn when our #1 and #2were in there one was all beat to hell (jenkins) and the other got beat like hell.

I'm more worried about him giving up a big play because of his tackling than I am his covering.

What a coincidence, Vegas has the GNATS by 4 and the over/under 45. Guess Pete is looking for rain.

I want Dallas to win, but honestly I don't expect them to beat the Giants there.

If they do beat them! Terrific!

If they don't, I wouldn't consider losing to the Giants in their home park to be particularly grievous.

9 out of the 12 local media personalities polled on this topic picked the Giants to win. I just wonder how many allowed their concern for being labled a homer (think Mickey) to influence their decision. After all, in the media, unless you work for Jerry, your credibility is everything.

I at least want it to be a very close game if the Cowboys lose, though I'd prefer a blowout by the Cowboys!

I wont post for a month if one cowboys fans submits proof that they are picking the cowboys in a knockout pool this week.

The impact of David Wilson on the game? A rookie playing his first NFL game?

Really?

My guess is that if there are 350 national writers, maybe 10-15 would pick the Cowboys...and that includes the 3 from the dallas market.
