Besides Mahomes, is there anyone on this list after this year that makes you go sign me up for that QB and that contract? Many of these QBs have fallen from their status this year.

What reality have I stumbled into?
Dak let the entire team down. It's the first playoff game that I can remember that our QB is almost the ONLY reason we lost. Now in September when Dak is still the QB because we are stuck with him, I'll be rooting for him to prove me wrong while you will still be starting a thread every 2 hours on how much you dislike him.

Honestly just stupid because you have no history on Purdy. You do know where Dak can get you but that's just a pissy comment!
....Peter King ought to be better than that.

Neither would be my choice to start a team if I had that choice, but if limited to those two I would probably go with Purdy too.

I've liked Dak all along, although I always knew he had questions about how far the team could go with him to answer, and I'm certainly not convinced Purdy would be the right guy, but it would be hard not to go with the guy who is 7-8 years younger and whose upside is still being discovered.

Of course I dislike him.

As you said he is the ONLY reason we're not playing in the NFC Championship game this year.

It's gonna be year 8. He will never prove you wrong,

Let’s not forget that Dak played lights out his rookie year as well.

I'd rather be 7 years younger, what the hell is the point? Lol.
Who wouldn't take a younger QB with potential?

The poster said “almost the ONLY reason we lost.” How contradictory is that!!!???

It's going to be interesting to see what the Niners do with their QB situation, especially if they get to the SB with Purdy. Not sure how they could bench him after than and they gave up a lot of draft picks to trade up for Trey Lance, who is supposed to be their heir apparent to the starting QB job.

Trey Lance has great physical tools. That does not mean he has every thing else necessary to play at this level. He had a very limited amount of games in college while Brock played a ton and played well. He has proven that he can make the required throws and doesn't turn the ball over. He seems to be able to read defenses. BTW, the last 2 QBs selected by the Jets were top 10 pics with a ton of physical skills and flamed out. Be interesting to see whether Brock can keep the reins. He may have real upside. We know what we have in Dak. We have been looking at him for several years.

You think that's what it is? lol

We were the better team Sunday. San Fran just had the better QB.
I hope Jerry does not agree with you. We are not the better team. They beat us in Dallas last year. They beat us in San Francisco this year. And if we lined up in a parking lot in Nebraska next week....they would beat us there too. I am not here to debate whether or not Dak is worth what he is making...but if Jerry thinks we are better because of how much he is paying the QB....then he still has not figured how this works!

I mean, they both faced good defenses in the exact same pressure situation and one of these QBs player better.

I know it's a small sample size, but considering the difference in experience, wouldn't you also think the same?
Not ever actually.
