SI has a pretty good article on our defense. Says most of the players were drafted in the 4th round or lower and are under 30. Jones gives lots of praise to Marinellie who made the defense simple and is "indespensable." Just FYI.

On 97.5 FM in Philly they were bashing the Cowboys on Mike Missonelli's show. He's the guy with the poor tweet after V.Cruz got hurt last week.
They don't remember how last season THEY were the team picked to finish last and turned it around. They don't think another team can though.
Homers.

I was going to post this. Mike says this proves the Cowboys are frauds. The defense will fold, Murray will get hurt, Romo will be Romo (meaning the pretend Romo who is a really bad QB).

Maybe some day we can field the kind of scary defensive talent like the Eagles trot out every week.

We will find out about the eagles on thanksgiving; a win that day could put us up 3 against them

Eagles upcoming schedule: Bye, @AZ, @ Hou, Car, @GB, Tenn...they could lose to AZ, and GB minimally, going 3-2
Cowboys upcoming schedule: Giants, Wash, AZ, @Jags (London), bye, @ Giants....we could conceivably go 5-0 against that line up

then, we beat them (of course) and we have a 3 game lead on them with only 4 to play....anything can happen on sundays, but the way things look now, Dallas has a favorable schedule to Philly prior to their first match-up on thanksgiving

stupid eagles

Cowboys are starting to earn a bit of a fan club among the rest of the league. When I talk to football people who haven’t studied the 5-1 Dallas start, they either say something like, “What is up in Dallas with that defense? How is it happening?” Or, “I can’t believe Dallas is doing this with that cast of characters. They’re just a bunch of average guys on defense.”

But the tape doesn’t lie. The tape loves this defense. And the Giants, who go into Texas on Sunday trying to break the Cowboys’ longest winning streak (five games) since 2007, have certainly noticed that if they don’t play fast on offense, they’ll have no chance to match the Dallas speed and pursuit that has been the hallmark of the 2014 team.

Good stuff from Peter King.

Love to hear this about McClain:

Twice against Seattle, reclamation project Rolando McClain destroyed a Seattle screen. Once, McClain switched directions in a split-second by diagnosing what was coming even before the blockers formed the wall for Marshawn Lynch.

He's just so big, fast, strong, and smart. Perfect Mike 'Backer.

Watching the Cowboys defense against Seattle, I kept thinking these guys spent a lot of time studying film. They seemed to be ready for everything that Seattle tried to do.

It's been a long time since I've seen the Cowboys defense play like they knew what was coming at the snap.

This is key. Tells me 1) the coaches know how to scout/prepare to exploit a team and 2) we got the right kind of players that fit their scheme and are smart enough to execute the game plan. Props to Will McClay and the coaching staff.

Who has the easiest job for the eagles organization? The person who cleans their trophy case.

Yes, remember when the scout got a game ball against Houston. He is an advance scout that scouts the upcoming opponents and helps formulate a game plan specific to that opponent.

Even though the Gnat's offense is sometimes dysfunctional, this game will be a good test of Dallas' defense vs a pure pocket passer with big receivers. They did a nice job against Brees though the Saints have been dysfunctional as well.

I've been thinking that as well, after seeing Scandrick routinely guesses right
