Quinn changed the defense somewhere along the line. I'd have to go back and review every game to see where, and maybe why. But he started using more zone and soft coverages later in the year and this defense does not play zone very well. Maybe it was after Buffalo ran all over us. Maybe it was after Seattle toasted Bland all night. But when the Cowboys play zone, it takes away their greatest asset, aggressiveness. How many times last night did we see Love, throw off his back foot into the middle of the field to a wide open receiver for a big gain on 3rd down? Seemed like all night but it kept drives alive, took them out of bad field position and gave their offense life.

What I don't understand is why he didn't make an adjustment after the first quarter seeing what we all saw?

Jerry no longer has a choice. He has to hire a big name coach to salvage any remaining interest in this product moving forward. His problem now is going to be the harsh reality that nobody is going to care enough about this collapsed house of cards to spend the money and time watching it in person. Sure Belickick will boost season ticket renewals initially but once the resale value of the tickets starts to plummet, Jerry will be left holding the bag and this loss was embarrassing enough that the financial issues will hit him immediately.

I really liked Dan Quinn but he's a playoff choker too. Guy goes to the soft zone after running one of the best man defenses all year.

Hopefully someone hires him.
This was the most puzzling move. Did they play zone because they wanted eyes on the backfield and wanted the players to rally to the ball carrier on run plays???

Quinn will always be remembered for the debacle of losing a huge led in the Super Bowl with the Falcons. This horrible loss will be a close second to that though. The shine is off Dan Quinn.

Just can’t imagine going to next year with the same setup.
Me either, the issue is I COULD see Jerry going into the season with the same, and just say "continuity" again and again.

Did anyone take notice of that unbelievable stat comparison that happened as a result in two of the WC games?

QB C. J. Stroud: rookie starter, first playoff appearance on Saturday.
16 for 21, 274 YD, 3 TD, 0 INT, QB rating 157.2

QB Jordan Love: 1st season starting, first playoff appearance Sunday
16 for 21, 272 YD, 3 TD, 0 INT, QB rating 157.2
Yup! I was coming in here to point that out too. Crazy!!

This is an interesting observation think Losing Diggs hurt us more than we thought & there must be a communication problem w/the DBs that are playing now...was LVE in charge of calling the defense ? Would appreciate any input because to many Packer receivers were wide open. Now Dak started the problems w/his 2 interceptions & made it hard to overcome but the defense was weak the Last several weeks of the season

This keeps getting parroted and it’s bull crap.

His man schemes got eviscerated, too. This team got absolutely COOKED in man over the second half of the season, too.

His only saving grace has been pressure. That’s it.

I don't think it has to be a big name. I think it can't be one of his comfort hires (Garrett, Phillips, Campo)

It's amazing that, in the biggest game of the year, the people we needed the most each **** the bed. McCarthy, Dak, Quinn--the team wasn't competitive from the start because how these three entered this game.
Exactly right.

This is what drives me nuts about Dallas. Why do fans have to wish for Quinn to be hired by another team ? Doesn't Sunday's performance, along with the previous 7-8 weeks of crappy embarrassing play, automatically get him fired ? Where's Jerry Jones in all of this ? How the heck do you RETAIN Quinn ? The defense is broke. It needs fixing.

The Eagles collapse got them a gimpy Baker Mayfieid and got us the hottest gun slinger in the league plus Aaron Jones who treats this defense like he’s a rider lawn mower on a golf course .
