Peter Schrager Mock

Mesidor before the 3rd round would be one of the worst picks in franchise history
 
great draft for us,instant impact from both rookies although i am worried about Mesidors injury history.
 
I would rather we trade down, but if we stay put, both of those guys would be solid picks from a talent perspective. Having said that in mock drafts most of the time neither of these guys are available where mocked.

There is a reasonably high probability that this draft will not be possible because they will not be in the board.

I am somewhat convinced that the Cowboys will select a DE in the top 40 picks. I am also more than somewhat convinced that the Cowboys will attempt to take a linebacker before the end of the second round.

The Cowboys may be better off in multiple trade downs from 12 than taking downs at 12 even if he’s on the board. Just my two cents.
 
Downs would be great at 12. Not so sure about Mesidor at 20.
Either trade down slightly pick up another 3rd round pick. Or if a team wants a player bad enough, they will give their 2nd round pick.

Or even though a DT, take McDonald at 20.
 
Word on the street is if the Cowboys get wiped out at 12 Mesidor would be the pick. This mock strengthens that line of thought

Agreed. Right now, we definitely need a starter and expecting to get one in the third round is expecting too much. We could end up with a DeMarvion Overshown or we could end up with a Marist Liufau.

I think if the draft fell like this and we took Downs and Mesidor, who would be appropriate values, then we'd need to push to get Miami to take our third for Jordyn Brooks. Maybe throw in Luke Schoonmaker or a later-round pick.

That word is Broaddus and he is going by his board/stack not what he thinks the Cowboys will do. BB admits he has no idea what the Cowboys would do. Broaddus has been screaming about bendy pass rusher since the offseason began.

Ouch. that would be a bit of a reach. Would rather go Thienemen at 12 and Mesidor at 20, even though I think Thienemen is also a bit of a reach there.
