Funny how that works. People never like to let facts and research get in the way of a good opinion.
All I'm trying to say is that more carries for him = bad for others.
An example:
A.Peterson right end to MIN 21
for 2 yards (S.Merriman, S.Cooper).
A.Peterson left end to S
D 34 for 5 yards (S.Merriman).
A.Peterson up the middle to SD 34 for
no gain (S.Cooper).
A.Peterson right end to SD 5 for
17 yards (M.Wilhelm, S.Cooper).
A.Peterson left guard for
1 yard, TOUCHDOWN.
A.Peterson up the middle to MIN 22 for
1 yard (J.Williams).
A.Peterson left end pushed ob at MIN 31 for
1 yard (C.Polk).
A.Peterson right guard to MIN 2 for
-2 yards (
I.Olshansky).
A.Peterson left guard to MIN 3 for
2 yards (J.Williams).
A.Peterson left end to MIN 29 for
no gain (M.Wilhelm, S.Merriman).
A.Peterson left end to MIN 42 for
17 yards (M.McCree).
A.Peterson up the middle to MIN 20 for
5 yards (L.Castillo, M.Wilhelm).
A.Peterson up the middle to MIN 27 for
7 yards (M.Wilhelm).
A.Peterson right tackle to MIN 25 for
-2 yards (C.Hart).
A.Peterson left guard to MIN 31 for
6 yards (C.Hart, M.Harris).
I cut out all the punts, these were his carries in the 1st half. My point is that he tends to get yardage in big chunks on a regular basis. Against the chargers (the stats above) which had Wade as their DC the year before, the total of AD's rushing yardage was 296.
