12 carries for 63 yards and a TD back in 2007. We won 24-14 at Texas Stadium.

We played them in 2007, his rookie year. He had 12 carries for 63 yards and a TD and 1 reception for 12 yards. He also had a lost fumble. He returned 3 kickoffs for 65 yards.

Dallas won 24 to 14.

I remember him having a pretty decent td run against us, but an obvious hold to spring him wasn't called.

He was having a field day against us with their horrible qb in.

Brad Childress the offensive genius that he is kept taking him out and giving the ball to taylor. It made no sense.

We won that game that day because they didnt keep giving the ball to peterson.

We had no answer for peterson on that day.

I also remember being very grateful that Childress was bone-headed enough to limit the guys carries for some reason. He really didn't know what he had I guess? Anyway, they lost.

lol glad I wasnt the only one that remembers it that way.

Thank goodness canty blocked that field goal.

I also remember that we had a ton of yards on them and they couldnt stop us but crayton fumbled on a big play and then romo was picked or fumbled cant remember.

They didnt have allen then. But kc had allen in 05 and Flozell adams was outstanding against him that day.

Half of his carries gained 1 yard or less, and another gained 2 yards.

That doesn't sound as dominant as some suggest.

That's his MO. 1,3,1,-2,4,60,2,1,43 etc.. It's not just the yardage. You can see the speed even on a 1 yard run, he's extremely fast and powerful. If he can reverse the field or gets any crease he's gone.

that said, I look forward to the Cowboys holding him to <40 yards.

I agree and it is the way I remembered it as well.

The Vikings had some success with both Peterson and Chester Taylor(10 attempts, 47 yards), but they were not able to control the game with their rushing attack. They only scored that one offensive TD by Peterson that day in the 1st quarter. They got a fumble return for a TD in the 2nd quarter. They were shut out the second half.

I do think they are a better offense now. Favre is a huge improvent over Tavarius Jackson as any QB would be. Even Jackson would be better now than he was in 2007 when he was only in his second year. Their wide receivers have improved since then as well. There is not much to take from that game in 2007. Things have changed for both teams.

Funny how that works. People never like to let facts and research get in the way of a good opinion.

All I'm trying to say is that more carries for him = bad for others.

An example:

A.Peterson right end to MIN 21 for 2 yards (S.Merriman, S.Cooper).
A.Peterson left end to SD 34 for 5 yards (S.Merriman).
A.Peterson up the middle to SD 34 for no gain (S.Cooper).
A.Peterson right end to SD 5 for 17 yards (M.Wilhelm, S.Cooper).
A.Peterson left guard for 1 yard, TOUCHDOWN.
A.Peterson up the middle to MIN 22 for 1 yard (J.Williams).
A.Peterson left end pushed ob at MIN 31 for 1 yard (C.Polk).
A.Peterson right guard to MIN 2 for -2 yards (I.Olshansky).
A.Peterson left guard to MIN 3 for 2 yards (J.Williams).
A.Peterson left end to MIN 29 for no gain (M.Wilhelm, S.Merriman).
A.Peterson left end to MIN 42 for 17 yards (M.McCree).
A.Peterson up the middle to MIN 20 for 5 yards (L.Castillo, M.Wilhelm).
A.Peterson up the middle to MIN 27 for 7 yards (M.Wilhelm).
A.Peterson right tackle to MIN 25 for -2 yards (C.Hart).
A.Peterson left guard to MIN 31 for 6 yards (C.Hart, M.Harris).

I cut out all the punts, these were his carries in the 1st half. My point is that he tends to get yardage in big chunks on a regular basis. Against the chargers (the stats above) which had Wade as their DC the year before, the total of AD's rushing yardage was 296.

and looking at it like this tells nothing. He is just like Felix. You stop him and stop him and the one time you dont get him he turns a corner and goes.

Just like he did on that 20 yard TD in the game. He was pretty amped up playing in texas that day.

We were crowding the line of scrimmage to stop him and he still was making plays. He is an excellent back and again, just like felix you can stop him 5 straight times for a small gain but the one time you make a mistake he will kill you.

That was a close game in 07, they just stopped giving him the ball.

you guys are acting like I said we would have lost or something. I just find it odd and I am thankful that he was not given the ball 20 times that day.

Our team had a little bit of patriots hang over that day and we were not sharp.
