Petitti joins Rams
By Bill Coats
ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH
10/25/2007

Free-agent tackle Rob Petitti is the roster replacement for guard Claude Terrell, who was cut Tuesday.

The 6-foot-6, 327-pound Petitti started all 16 games for Dallas as a rookie in 2005. The Cowboys waived him just before the start of the regular season last year, and he was picked up by New Orleans.

Petitti played in just one game for the Saints and was released late in training camp this year.

Good for Rob. This is an opportunity for him to actually play. Hopefully for him, he shows enough to stay on the NFL gravy train.

Or at least make it to retirement NFL age where you're pension eligible.

Eventually if given the time he can be somebody's budget Columbo:D

Good to see he is getting another chance. He seems like a good guy and I hope things work out for him

While the Rams are struggling now, at least he has landed on his feet. Maybe third time is the charm.

Every time I think of Rob's fortune since finishing his rookie year here, I think back to Madden talking him up all game during our first nationally televised game of that season. Might have even been preseason. He seems to be a coaches favorite in practice, but the performance come gametime must not match up to expectations.

I think Rob has been a victim of circumstance. Teams that are making a Superbowl run rarely have time to wait on a project player .... I think he will eventually find a home and have a long career in the NFL.
