Pettine - I think I can help a lot

...I think a GB shut out is coming Sunday night. :)> ..

I'm going to tell you guys now, not quite a guarantee but almost. He will shore up the defense and improve it a bit. A veteran coach with a outside perspective, he is absolutely going to come in and make some small adjustments to show quick improvement. It doesn't matter that the players aren't performing, aren't tackling, etc. with his experience, he's going to quickly improve the efficiency.

I'm not saying he's going to work miracles. But if we had to put a number on it, he's going to move us up the defensive rankings three or four spots in the next few weeks just from tightening up on our glaring weaknesses.

I believe CP has the right mindset and plan, unfortunately it was too much change too quickly and combining that with so many new defensive players.

let's get a smooth guiding hand in here to help ease us into CPS overall changes, but slow the bleeding down. I've seen this many times in other industries. I'm not saying we're going to win the next few games but I am saying he will bring the experience to make some small changes quickly.
:hammer:

The fact that CP asked Pettine for help indicates that he has confidence in Pettine to help him. Jerry isn't the one who insisted upon hiring Pettine. That's what some see as the case here. As much as I dislike Jerry, I doubt it was his intention to get rid of CP but rather, trying to get Pettine to help him.
CP requested Pettine's presence from the start, which means his hire was totally wanted by CP.
CP gonna get fired,

I just find it weird that coaches that have spent most of their life around the game & so many people defer to as "experts" in all matters, can't figure out what the other teams are doing and thus a clue how to defend it.

Are other teams running anything exotic, ground breaking, against us?
The simplest explanation is that we just don't have the talent on D. Possible learning curve on defense as well. But that wouldn't explain giving up 241 yards on the ground to the Bucs. That's ridiculous. That's not scheme, that's just bad. Probably both.

The Giants ran the ball 37 times for 165 yards. Nothing exotic about it. The Bucs ran it 39 times. It reminds me of mismatch college games. Where one team just runs the ball because they're just a much better team. A consultant isn't changing the results.
