It could happen.

Recruiting dinner? Manning, Fitzgerald to have dinner in Indy

2/2/2012 1:08:44 PM

The Arizona Cardinals are among the teams that have been identified to have interest in Peyton Manning if he is released by the Colts.

Manning and Arizona WR Larry Fitzgerald expected to have dinner this week in Indianapolis according to Tom James of the Terre Haute Tribune-Star.

Fitzgerald and Manning are friends. Fitzgerald would like Manning to consider Cardinals if he is released by Colts.

The only place that makes more sense than ARZ for Peyton, based purely on football, is Indy.

I'd like to see this, actually. It'd be a good place for him.

makes sense but i hate it
the NFC is strong enough as it is without us having to go through peyton as well

on top of that, they will cut kolb and eagles will resign him to be their backup so basically they will have rented out kolb for 1 year and got a 2nd round pick and a starting CB out of the deal

That's funny. Larry was the biggest supporter for Kolb last year and seems to have ditched him already.

The places where Manning REALLY makes sense are:

Seahawks
Niners (if they really arent sold on Alex Smith)
Jets
Dolphins
Commanders (doubt he goes here cause he wouldnt want to play against his bro 2x a year)
Titians (if they dont want hasselbeck again this year)

Wherever peyton thinks he can win another ring in a year or 2 is where he will sign.

Wouldn't you if Peyton were available?

If I were Peyton and I was determined to play, I'd go to San Fran. That Defense, Gore, Davis, and Crabtree, plus Ginn giving you field position. Plus their OL is outstanding. I'd ask them to draft or sign 2 more WRs and go for broke.

That's the thing Hos. I agree becuase SF's line is much nicer than ours. Going to the NFC West champs makes a lot of sense for a QB that has maybe 3 or 4 good years left if that. Peyton hides a LOT of deficiencies though. Much like Kurt Warner did, and I would be the first in line to have the taste of that kind of winning. I could even see signing Reggie Wayne if the Colts don't, to team up with Fitz. *shudders at the thought*.

If I were Baltimore, I'd be all over him.

If Kolb were to get released, I can see him finding his way back to Philly.

I would love to see him play for the Cards next year. We don't play them, and they would certainly bring a little more parity to the NFC West.....Oh,and they play the eagles!

Indy is in full-on rebuilding mode. If I was Manning, I'd rather go to AZ than stay in Indy. Aside from having one of the best receivers in the game, they play in a weak division (SF comes down to earth next year, trust me). Assuming Indy cuts him, I'd much rather go to AZ over Was and Miami (2 of the other teams potentially planning to court him).

Dream team two. Lol

I'd rather see him in Arizona than in D.C., which is another logical landing spot.

You ain''t neva lied fam. Then add Andre Roberts as a sold 3. He can do Breaston numbers with Manning behind center.

Having Peyton means you aren't in rebuilding mode...that's how good he is - or at least, was. Hard to tell now.

The year before this, they were a good team but were absolutely decimated by injuries. I don't think ARZ is any better than Indy if Peyton is there.
