Who would be opposed to us getting him this off season and trading TR? Alot of my my cowboys hatin' buddies said the wish we kept romo and didn't pursue manning because " it be to hard to keep up with that offense".

This is going to be a long offseason.

I have to wonder what the over/under is concerning impossible trades either for players to come to the cowboys or cowboys players to go elsewhere.

Big contract, coming off 2 neck surgery in a 15 month period and a lot of uncertainty? I don't think so

Sure why not. Let's bring in a 36 year old QB coming off season ending neck surgery.

Never mind that we don't have a QB problem now, but I heard the aging and injured Peyton Manning plays some serious defense.

Taking into account Manning's health and age, Romo is the more valuable quarterback at this point. This thread is getting posted every day, and it ain't getting any better for the repetition.

I say keep Romo and convince Manning to retire and become a QB coach. Then convince him to be one here and not stay in Indy.

Anyone else in the NFL you want to come to Dallas?

Manning may be a better career QB, but he is also older, has MAJOR injury concerns and may not ever play again, is immobile, and his contract would be waaaaaay more than we can afford. Besides, Romo is coming off his best season.

So to answer your question, I would be opposed.

I think we should trade him and then give him a huge raise and a five year contract.

I would be completely against this idea for so many reasons. Some of the ones right off the top of my head are that what you'd have to give up to get him, along with his money, would be completely wasted when he was hurt and out for the year less than a month in behind this o-line.

A guy coming off neck injuries, behind an o-line that you won't have the picks or resources to upgrade after you give stuff away to get Manning, is a recipe for complete disaster.

:madden:

Hilarious.

95% of the defensive players have sucked for the past few years and no mention..

Just the Romo Garbage again.

yep, gonna be a long, long offseason.

Whenever someone feels like complaining about yet another Jerry Jones thread, he or she should take a moment to remember the alternative: a Manning to Cowboys thread.

You guys are funny. You complain about Romo but what has Manning ever done, he led his team to 1 SB win and yet he is supposedly the best qb of all time. He also choked in one SB. Rather have Romo and his blue collar backroung vs Manning and his silver spoon, same goes for his brother as well.

No for all the reasons that people have already mentioned. Not to mention, we would suddenly have to trade Romo and you know darn well that teams wouldn't give us fair trade value for him. So.... a big, fat NO to Manning.
