Peyton Medical Cleared to Play

If I were him, I'd take the advice of guys who specialize in that area and move on from there.

The "risk" is pretty much perceived to be greater because of the location of the injury. In reality, many players have come back and played.

:bang2: The NFL is and would be fine without him. Just stop.

The NFL was fine without him this year. It would have been nice for him to be around, but the NFL will easily survive. The NFL is bigger than any one player. The NFL was fine when Staubach retired or Montana or Elway or Favre. It will be fine when Manning retires. Maybe the NFL will suffer when Tebow is gone.

There is no doubt that Peyton has the guts to come back and play, I just wonder at this point in his career if it is really worth any risk, perceived or actual. I think he is one of the best QBs to ever play the position. I wish him well which ever path he chooses...

Yeah that will be hard for the NFL to overcome. They might want to look into that before letting him retire.

No it wasn't the same without him not even close.

I didn't notice any difference other than the Colts sucking and I don't really care if they suck or not.

What was this difference you were noticing?

Playoffs weren't quite as good. I'm just so used to seeing the Colts and Peyton in the playoffs and competing for a Super Bowl.

I don't know what playoffs you watched but I thought the playoffs this year were great.

Broncos knocked off the Steelers

Giants knocked off the Packers

49ers knocked off the Saints

Both championship games came down the wire and many of the games were strongly contested games.

Maybe the Atlanta game and NE's game against the Broncos were duds but that's it.

Sounds like what you mean is, "I'm a Colt fan".

No what I mean is Manning is one of my favorite Non Cowboys and it simply wasn't the same without him IMO.

Yeah it actually was. Most fans still watched the NFL in record numbers this season. There is no one star bigger than the league I don't care who it is.

Yes because Peyton performs so well in the playoffs. All but two playoffs in the Super Bowl era have had a Peyton-free Super Bowl and those worked out just fine for the fans. Get off Peyton's jock.

Playoff losses weren't his fault. He played a great Super Bowl IMO with the exception of the late pick thrown and that was on Wayne for running a bad route. The last playoff loss was on his idiot coach for calling a timeout giving the Jets time to kick a late FG. Manning is arguably the greatest quarterback of all time it's ridiculous to think he wouldn't be missed.

Manning had his fair share of blame in some of those playoff meltdowns. Manning is one of the best ever but the rule changes have definitely benefited him and other QB's in today's NFL. I'm never going to say he is the greatest simply because he has one championship and came up small in a lot of big games. Whether it was his fault or not he didn't deliver.

As for that Jet playoff game, during the Colts final offensive drive, Manning had a chance to pick up a 1st down on a 3rd and 6 and run out the clock and missed his receiver and they had to settle for a FG and left time on the clock for the Jets to win it. It amazes me that people gloss over Manning's shortcomings in the playoffs and people like you continue to do it. He had countless games where his team had homefield advantage and they would get beat.
