I think this is very generous. They rank him over Sean McVay and Mike Tomlin.

Sean McVay at #11...PFF is garbage.

I wouldn't disagree but LA has easily the best roster in the league.
It's not even close tbh.
But hard to argue with playoffs 4 out of 5 years and 1 SB win with another loss.
So this type of metric ranking based on expectations is going to rank him more harshly than just public opinion.

The Cowboys had a better roster than the Rams in 2018 but the Rams spanked the Cowboys with scheme.

Why is Belichick rated #1?

He has a losing record and only 1 playoff win in the 9 seasons he has coached without Brady carrying him.

Correct me if I am wrong but New England did make the playoffs last year with a 10-7 record and a rookie QB didn't they? Who expected that?

New England spent the most money in the league in free agency last year - $163 million. Historically the team that spends the most wins 5.4 more games the following season. By that standard Belichick and the Patriots underperformed, only winning 3 more games.

Not sure I fully buy that as the Rams went 13-3 and made the SB.
It's the highest win % season of McVay's career and the best by the Rams in at least the last 30 years.

IIRC they lost a bunch of free agents and the DC and fell out of the playoffs the very next year. --the only miss of McVay's career.
They had Brockers, Suh and Aaron Donald up front.
Marcus Peters and Aqib Talib at CB.

McCarthy is average at best with his best days way behind him. This ranking is completely wrong.
