PFF: Micah Parsons is #38 of the top 101 highest graded players for 2024

You're not supposed to be turning this into a Prescott thing and now you have why can't anybody leave this alone?
I mean you're not supposed to bring up the quarterback in a thread that has nothing to do with the quarterback.
But since you did let me educate you, first of all that's new market money for a guy who the year before he got paid, he was second team all pro, and 2nd MVP voting, technically he should have been the MVP..

so he's telling me the MVP isn't in the top five? he's been in the top five at least three times in his career ,just because last year it didn't work out well we're not going to be splitting hairs.. he could have went to three or four other teams for that same money, that's the point , that's his market other quarterbacks are within 5 million of him.. that have done less than him ,you know who they are should, I list you the top 10 quarterbacks who are all making over 50 million and how they all didn't make the playoffs last year, there's a whole bunch of them didn't even make the playoffs last year either...

When you open up a can of worms like this, how about bring some details quarterbacks are different, when they're getting paid, if they're already top ten and play top five, Their looking to be one of the top paid at their position, their position, that would be a capital THEIR, Not positional players.

But now let's go to Parsons ,he is not defensive player of the year, he's not even approached the current record in sacks, yes he deserves top five money,

that's what Trayvon diggs did ,quietly by the way, took #4 overall money and even right now he's still in the top 6 two years later, it was a very fair quiet smooth easy deal because there are a lot of those that Jerry did that you all don't bring up....

but when a player demands to be the highest paid non quarterback in the league instead of accepting a top five, when that's all he is, Parsons is the top five in his position, he's probably top five or top ten overall on defense in the entire league ,and he should be paid like it ,but if he holds out like he said he wouldn't then that's on him he does not deserve to be a $40 million player, we all know it he's not a quarterback he doesn't deserve next highest quarterback money because, he's not even the best at his position..

But according to Micah Parsons, he's willing to give the team a fair deal meaning he's not going to do that even CD lamb took #2 money, he didn't reset the market, he didn't get anywhere near quarterback money, not top quarterback money..

that is where this has gone wrong the last five years is this new word came up the phrase I want to be the highest paid non quarterback in the league meaning if there's 55 to 60 million sitting out there for quarterbacks they want to be making more money than anybody else in the league besides those guys.. and IMO that is a bad philosophy the league can't handle it it's too big a salary cap be paying everybody $40 million that's not a quarterback.

So, if Parsons is willing to do around 34 give or take a mil, I'm sure they can work out a deal but if he's pressing for something bigger than that the Cowboys might need to trade him get into the top five of this draft get another number one pick in the next draft and just get a new rookie pass rusher and I know it's tough to replace an MP....but it might be the reality.

And yes I said this about the quarterback as well, but don't think he wouldn't have landed on at least four to five other teams making that same 58 to $60 million he was not overpaid just by Jerry he got paid because of the market for a top quarterback in the league and yes he is a top quarterback he may not be top five because of 2024 but he's been in the five conversation many times..

So, in order for these things not to go South let's just not bring up the quarterback when it's not a thread about a quarterback because this is what's going to happen we need to bring in common sense in here because you shouldn't be comparing the quarterback to positional players that if they're on different levels when markets because it's harder to find one....

To be fair,
Many of the comments on this board will make you want to thank your lucky stars Jerry is in charge!
I can't remember any comment that bad. Some bad, yes, but nothing bad enough to thank my lucky stars for Jerry Jones.

And no one here has owned a football, been a self made billionaire or even a mere GM nor are they remotely qualified.
Simple reality most of the fans here complaining the loudest don’t seam qualified to fetch toilet paper of family trips to Walmart much less offer coherent solutions to how to run a sports franchise.
Hell, you didn’t even have the reading comprehension skills to comprehend my original post. To intent on shrilly screaming and vigorously stomping your wittle foot because you didn’t get instant gratification!
Dude, I didn’t read your initial post at all… I did read where you said we should “thank our lucky stars we have Jerry jones as gm”. That is insane. He is at best a below average GM… And as I’ve said, if he wasn’t the owner, he would’ve been fired a dozen different times… Probably more than a dozen.

And I do get it that your post was more about insulting people on this board than it was supporting Jerry Jones… But still that statement is crazy.

Lol wow,
Yes it’s called sarcasm in response to some of the silly bed wetting, end of the world, didn’t get instant gratification, empty headed animal food trough wiper post from fans on the page who are under the delusion they could run a team.
Do you not understand sarcasm??

I have a lot of issues with this list. But we need to keep in mind it is based on how PFF grades players.

I can start with Mialata being the #3 player in the league. I don't think he is the best offensive lineman on the Eagles. But 3rd best in the league? That's insane to me. Dickerson is 64. I would put him over Mialata.

I think they put too much emphasis on the playoffs or one playoff game. I like Milton Williams a lot, but I don't know that he deserves to be on this list as a rotational guy. Jalen Carter is 77? Williams is 90, only 13 spots behind him?

But give the Eagles credit 5 guys in the top 30 is pretty good team building. I wonder how the Eagles will be able to afford all these top players going forward. Baun is a free agent and listed at #11. Seems to me he will be looking for a lot more money. Milton Williams is a free agent as well.

Aside from the Eagles, I have an issue with Parsons as the 5th Edge player. Jared Verse is a good player but he had 4.5 sacks in 17 games. Parsons had 12 in 13 games. Verse had 12 stuffs in 17 games Parsons had 13 in 13 games. Further, compare their double team rates? Only Garrett gets double teamed more than Parsons. I like Verse. He is a good solid player but there is no way he is better than Parsons.

Verse plays on a much better DL than Dallas. This is why I keep saying if Dallas gets some quality on that DL, Parsons will be even better than he has been. He could set the record for sacks in a season.
Exactly all this are just opinions all these rankings are just opinions these are the way they see them and while you can support it you can also debate where they went wrong along that list but it all that matters is the player the agent and the ownership group on how much they think he's worth or whether they should trade a guy.. This is just more what someone referred to as clickbait it sparks debates we used to call them flame wars everyone gets their own opinions and then it turns into 10 pages of what they think should happen and who is worth what...

But again all that matters is with the agent the player and the ownership come to agree what he's worth and they typically get paid by what they've done up to that point I know everyone thinks it's for the future but Prescott's contract came after he was a second team all pro second MVP voting and we all know and I know it's debatable he should have been the MVP then we wouldn't be having this conversation about LJ not getting his his MVP this year that he deserved and instead it went to what people deemed #2 and Josh Allen this is where these panels of people who make these decisions sometimes they see it in a different manner than what we see..

Yes somebody mentioned Prescott being overpaid and somehow he's not top five and doesn't deserve the money but doesn't realize he's had at least three years where he was top five and the year before he got his deal he was the highest scoring quarterback in the league and should have probably been the MVP and therefore he got his money and another team would have been happy to pay in that same area pay scale he would've been on another team this year most likely making the same money this is what the market is for some players..

so where is Parsons market I don't know.. i know this i know the negotiations ....ably starting around 32 to 34 million.. We'll see how much his statements made that he would give a team friendly deal to make sure the Cowboys had some extra money to help the team but that could all be a puff piece the agent will make sure he doesn't settle.
