How did Dallas go from having such a joke of a running game and OL including Tyron Smith to being one of the best in the NFL so quickly? How did Demarco Murray become any good all of a sudden?

Cowboys are 6th. Cleveland is 1st -- mainly due to the fact that all 5 of Cleveland's starting OL have positive grades.

I don't understand the question. The running game and the offense in general were both pretty good last year. The defense was one of the 2-3 worst in the league however. Hence, 8-8 record.

Also, we added a first round pick and a very young offensive line added another year's experience.

We've had a good running game for a while, just chose to pass more...

I read somewhere else that the pass blocking has been graded sort of meh here and there.

Also, Sturm placed it in his article somewhere and unfortunately it is true, but Smith has not started off as strongly in pass protection as he has in the past. That was true pre-watt.

Pass protection definitely has not been as consistent as the run blocking

Dunno. Dallas isn't even top 10 in sacks allowed -- they are ranked 12th overall (they've allowed 9 so far).

9 isn't bad, however, there are teams like Cincinnati that have only allowed 1 sack so far and Cleveland who have only allowed 5.

I'm not saying they shouldn't be top 5, but the Cowboys are still <not great> at pass protection -.

But we've played a strong D's in the 49ers, Rams(dline), and the Texans(dline)

Pretty good when you think those are upper level teams on the Dline

Texans had 1 sack. Robert Quinn and the rams were shut down. I wouldn't have thought they have given up 9 sacks already.

Yea when we had Tashard, Barber and Felix......one of those years we had the highest YPC in the league or the 2nd highest. This team has always been able to run the football from what I can remember. It may have been a few stinkers in there when Barber was starting to fade and Felix wasn't taking that next step.

Three of them came in the SF game. Romo did not play well and we didn't really play a ball control running offense in that game.

Yeah I was speaking more recently as in the past 2-3 seasons but yes even back then we had success running the ball...

We are always going to have more sacks because Romo does hold onto the ball longer. The teams that focus on getting the ball out quickly are always going to be better in this regard then we are.

I can live with the holding the ball as long as it doesn't result in TOs. I mean, if Romo doesn't hold onto the ball, then you don't see plays like we did with Romo escaping Watt for a big play down field. I would rather we didn't hold the ball and just get rid of it because I think that's more efficient but you gotta take the good with the bad.
