No way in hell am I trusting an injured pick at 14 or a DE pick that late..........go S, LBer or trade out

14. DALLAS COWBOYS: CB JERMOD McCOY, TENNESSEE

The Cowboys made quite the splash by trading for interior defender Quinnen Williams before the deadline. Defensive line was a major issue for them, but now the secondary might be even bigger. McCoy has yet to play for the Volunteers this season due to his recovery from a torn ACL he suffered in the offseason. But his 2024 tape showed the talent of a first-rounder and a potential CB1 in the NFL at 6-feet and 195 pounds. He earned a strong 87.0 PFF overall grade in 2024.

24. DALLAS COWBOYS: EDGE R MASON THOMAS, OKLAHOMA

R Mason Thomas won’t be for everyone. He’s listed at just 6-foot-2 and could likely measure in under that at the NFL Scouting Combine. But he’s still 250 pounds and packs a punch when he can convert speed to power. He might just have the most explosive first step of any pass rusher. That has yielded a 20.0% pass-rush win rate, even though he loses the length battle to every tackle he faces. The Cowboys made a big splash on their defensive line by trading for Quinnen Williams, but they still need more help at edge rusher.

Barf...I don't expect the Cowboys to take another CB coming off an ACL, let alone in the 1st round. R Mason has good pass rush ability. I like the position choices, but I do wonder if your team runs a zone scheme how high would you go on a CB? Zone CBs shouldn't require high draft choices.

i’d rather draft the clemson de at 14 and at 24 take cb from tennessee

I can’t imagine the Cowboys drafting an injured cornerback after the issues with Bland, Diggs, and Revel this season

This draft doesn’t appear to be as top heavy as 2025.

Yea, pass on McCoy in the first. One thing if he dropped to the 3rd like Revel, and if we had a third, but not taking an injured CB in the 1st.

Yes, regarding Revel. He went in the 3rd for a reason.
They knew they'd have to wait half the season, and even then he may be rusty.
He will be good long-term though

Particularly since losing Kneeland. I like David Bailey as well

If the draft fell like that, I am trying to trade out of the 1st round if there is a dance partner. Hopefully a 2027 first and fthen taking Styles with my other pick.

Pretty shocking to see the draft capital this year. Mingo!!!

I'm hoping Reese. The LB from Ohio State is still on the board when our first 1st round pick comes up. It will probably take a top 10 pick to get him. The other Ohio State LB or Anthony Hill Jr from Texas should be out other 1st round target especially if we miss out on Reese.

This would be a disaster - both picks.

I'm seeing mocks where Reece could be the first non-QB taken.......top 3-5. In other words, even with a top pick, we may have to trade up and get him

IMO, if the draft fell like that & Dallas was picking 14th, I believe the top player on the board at 14 would be Lemon, the USC WR. You just can't reach for a defender - or any player - in the 1st round. McCoy was elite....in 2024. You just can't risk the earlier 1st rounder on a guy coming off a serious injury.

I think there's a very good chance that the best player on the board come the GB pick would be an OT. Hopefully, they'll be somewhat of a market to trade down and pick up a 2nd or 3rd. I don't trust the bottom 10 in that mock.

Not a fan. Would prefer safety and running back in Round 1. In that order

If the draft fell like this, Faulk with the 14th. Yes he needs to develop as a pass rushers but he already is great against the run and traits are there. Take a LB with the 2nd, either Styles or Allen.
