PFF QB Ranking - Dak 17

You were making a case for Hurts not being #5 QB. Hurts was 5th in Post Season QBR and therefore supports the 5 place rating......the rest of your spurious comparison of Postseason QBR with other SB winning QB's means nothing.
I was commenting to the person who questioned whether Hurts was the #5 QB THIS YEAR.

You do understand that the linked article is the PFF predictions for 2025 right?

Dak can win the super bowl this season and theyll say it was his weapons. Meanwhile, Hurts had a WR drafted in the top 15, they traded for another reciver for him, then when that wasnt enough they went and got him a rb to go with that #1 o line. Yet people are acting like it was Hurts. No, it was that stacked team and that defense that was finally addressed that did it for them. Hurts was just the Uber driver.

17 is clearly stupid. As they noted he was an MVP candidate in 2023.

The other candidates who have finished top 2 in MVP voting since 2020
Brady, Rodgers, Mahomes, Lamar, Hurts.

The notes about elevating himself versus the best is VERY FAIR, but a 17 ranking is still stupid.
There are like 5 QBs who are good versus good teams.

PFF has rated Dak top 10 every season he has played a full season since 2019.

But he has also missed major time in 2 of the previous 3 seasons.

And you seem unusually sensitive to tone policing people on a forum.
I’m probably a little too sensitive to dumb comments that are looking for a reason to get into baseless arguments.

Since you’re concerned about my sensitivity, check my history to see how often I get into fights.

Hurts is durable, and a great tush push weapon but he cannot throw the ball or read plays as well as Dak.
Not even Eagles fans believe that.
Jalen is a solid package as a QB because he has overall tools, but it was only 18 months ago he was bickering with his WR corps and people were questioning if he was the right guy.

Eagles built the best trenches in the sport and amazingly everyone shut up questioning that.

Some of you guys really can’t read. Go back and reread my post. Either the problem is reading comprehension OR you just want to find something to be mad about.

I’ll slow it down. Hurts had the lowest QBR of ANY SUPER BOWL WINNING QB since 2015. Oh the irony.

I’m pretty sure 1-4 didn’t win the Super Bowl but maybe I’m wrong.
I stated a simple fact and you are welcome to check my work.
The way I see it is Hurts has a great o-line, a great running back, very good recievers and a tight end that is very good. And a great defense. No pressure on Hurts. But also, he can make big plays running or passing the ball. Something Dak can't do.

So if Hurts is an 'Uber driver' (add in his mobility and contract) doesnt that put him above Dak? The weapons argument works both ways, as does MVP votes.....though comparing the two, it could be argued that it highlights Daks struggles in the bigger games.
Both have weaknesses, but Hurts' are easier to scheme out.....especially at the moment with his contract.

No, not really. It just wasn't a good point to begin with. Most can see this...
Just admit that you swung and missed and are now deflecting to save face. You put all that time in to prove me wrong and now realize you didn’t comprehend what the stat represented.

If you don’t think it is an important stat, fine. If you don’t like QBR, fine. People can decide whether is had any meaning to them or not. I’m not trying to change opinions here.

I don't get why he chokes. He's gone through hell and back, in his private life. I'd figure he'd be more mentally tough. I also don't get why they don't have a coach in his ear, by his side when he's on the sidelines. He has talent, more than most, he loses focus and tries too hard when things get tight. He needs somebody to pull the wedgie out and get him to relax. Hope he puts it together.
Because since the ankle injury he has become more 1 dimensional. What made him good was his ability to run and throw. No one is wondering if Dak is gonna run anymore.

First bolded point - Without question it does - Does Saquon have the season he does without the legit threat of a running QB?

Second bolded point - Completely disagree. When Dak's presence "on the field alone" helps the running game, then we will agree - but that won't happen in this lifetime.

Personally I agree. I think he still has plenty of pressure. But I also think the strength of the team around him means he doesn’t have to carry quite as heavy of a load.

My comment was never about Dak though everyone wants to make everything about Dak. My gut is that’s why some were offended. I have never even stated on this site my opinion on Dak.

FWIW, I think Hurts is a good QB and better than many on this site believe.

Lol...you continue to do you. I think most others got the point. You appear to be on an island here.

I never even said I don't like QBR. I think you yourself said a few posts back that people need to read better....I just posted numbers and asked "who cares?"

He's a psychology graduate and he can read as many books as he likes (which probably feeds his thoughts on the matter). Some people just cant work under pressure and overcome anxiety.
Because of this fragility he needs everything to go right .....THS IS THE REASON THERE ARE SO MANY SKEPTICS.

I get that, but his history of choking in big games was there before that. Many successful QBs don't run much, although with lack of a running game, that would be great to have.

Im a skeptical too, big difference in the way many of us show it. I just don't see any reason to disrespect or wish bad on one of our own. I was raised to be respectful, good thing my dad doesn't read this, or he'd whoop my azz! Lol

A lot of the 'disrespect' is direct towards those that dont see any weakness and/or deflect onto players making a fraction of a guy who's best card is his leadership.

If fans can see what kind of roster the Eagles had to put together to win a Super Bowl isn’t that an indictment of Jerry Jones abilities? Jalen Hurts is not an elite talent. It Dak Prescott is a superior NFL quarterback Jerry had a head start on Philly yet cannot figure it out and refuses to change how the team is run. Now the Commanders, of all franchises, has marched right past Dallas.

And if deference to Hurts’ abilities or lack thereof, gifted that tremendous roster of teammates the expectations for the team and his stewardship of its offense is sky high. Hurts shows up when the stakes are high. Significant to mention, he has not turned 27 yet. He’s 15 months older than Milton. Is there time for either of these guys to develop?
