PFF stat about Dez and Dak

And someone pointed out it's not that unusual a number. Back in 2011, Romo targeted him like 110 times and also had a huge number of uncatchable balls.

This is where PFF is kind of silly because they rarely provide context.

Yeah, amazingly, I heard on the radio yesterday that someone did a WR separation analysis and Dez' average separation on routes was right there with the top guys like Antonio Brown and Julio Jones.
The leader was Hopkins....but it was by a tiny margin.

Honestly. I found that hard to believe. But that's what they came up with.

I don't recall that at all.

And he was actually considered very good in 2011 relative to other WRs..

So it's an indictment on Dez? Dak? Both?

I'm starting to lose track.

So, wait a minute. I thought Romo knew how to "throw Dez open"...........yet, those numbers are staggeringly similar, except the higher number of drops this year. But, I guess there are still those that will blame it all on Dak. All I know is Dak was 16-20, 148 yards and no TO's when he threw that 30 yard pass to Dez.......that hit him in BOTH hands (and, he was already dropping it before Hayward makes a play on the ball). He makes that catch (as he's done so many times in his career), the game is 22-13/14. Who knows what would've happened after that..............

On the "eye test". To me, it is a problem with both of them.
I'd split the blame 75% Dak and 25% Dez.

Dez is an emotional player that thrives at high pointing routes. Romo talked about it during the Chiefs game I think. What is surprising and what I can't understand is how they haven't figured out how to work together better.

Presently, TWilliams is a better option that Bryant. Prescott needs to throw more to him and spread the ball around like last yr.Get Beasley back into things. That is the key to getting back on track.

If you can't open twitter it says.
"Dez Has 102 targets this season, with 53 catches, per PFF 60 of those targets were uncatchable"

PFF has repeatedly been shown to be worthless on these types of subjective stats.

I wouldn't say worthless but it's hard to tell the story. We don't know if Dez or dak have a miscommunication and dez makes a wrong turn causing the timing of an anticipation route to be way off. Just thought it was interesting.
