And preferably well before week 5 of free agencyWe need to address DT in free agency!
The DT from the Broncos would be good or Tomlinson from The VikesWell if you like the DT position this team can use Hargave and Payne. But we bargain shop unfortunately. Sucks because that could be the missing links for this defense.
All expensive. Not sure how expensive but expensive. If i'm not mistaken I think Tomlinson is a little older so maybe he won't.The DT from the Broncos would be good or Tomlinson from The Vikes
Possibly, but do we want to fix it or not? DT is a position that takes a few years to develop so I hope the Jones boys don't mind paying for instead of drafting. All expensive. Not sure how expensive but expensive. If i'm not mistaken I think Tomlinson is a little older so maybe he won't.

Nice right up brothaThis list includes
Javon Hargrave, Eagles - 30
Daron Payne, Commanders 26
Dalvin Tomlinson, Vikings - 29
Sheldon Rankins, Jets - 29
David Onyemata, Saints - 31
Hargrave is technically under contract with the Eagles until 2026 but his contracts can be voided this year. My guess is, with Cox getting older, the Eagles will extend Hargrave and keep him another couple of years.
Payne is coming off his rookie deal. The Commanders can create $26 million in CAP space by cutting Carso Wentz and I think that is exactly what they will do. I think Payne stays with Washington and his price will be to high for the Jones boys anyway.
Dalvin Tomlinson is an interesting guy. He is only 29. I don't think he will cost as much as Payne. His 2022 CAP number was $7.5 million. I suspect he will cost about the same. Like Hargrave, Tomlinson is under contract through 2025 but it voided after 2022. Technically the Vikings could extend him, but the Vikings are seriously underwater with the CAP in 2023. They are $19 million over right now. Of course they can clear CAP space by cutting players or restructuring deals. But I don't think they will do that to keep Tomlinson. The question is, is Tomlinson that good? He is not a 1st tier DT in my opinion. But he is younger than Hankins and still can do some damage.
Sheldon Rankins is another player I think will be in Dallas's price range. He is 29 so he has some tread on his tires. He is not dominant but again, he is what we wish Gallimore was. He is not top tier but Dallas does not sign top tier players.
Onyemata is going to be 31. He had 5 TFLs and 5 sacks this year so he has something to offer. Again, I don't think he will cost a bunch, but at 31 what's he worth to Dallas.
Sol like I said, I think Hargrave and Payne are out of reach. They will stay with their teams next year. So we can re-sign Hankins, or try to sign Tomlinson. Those are two option that fit within the Cowboys free agency strategy and at something to the inside of the defense.
