Witten still beasting, still getting it done! He also tied Shannon Sharpe for career TD's on Sunday. Way to go Witt.

Anyways, PFF:

5. Jason Witten, TE, Dallas Cowboys

Witten was thrown the ball nine times in Dallas’ 35-7 win against the Browns, and he caught eight of them for 134 yards and a touchdown. Rookie QB Dak Prescott had a passer rating of 155.8 — just 2.5 points below perfect — when throwing Witten’s way, and he beat six different Cleveland defenders for catches over the course of the game, racking up 52 of his yards after the catch. This was an excellent performance from Witten, who showed there is still plenty of gas in his tank.

Is Witten that rare type of player, a Riggins-type, that will just keep performing at a high level (non OL non QB) at a high age?

He has uncanny vision for soft spots in the defense, that is more mental than physical. Here's to our guy's continued production as he hits his mid-30's :)

PFF is a joke. Witten is my hero, bot there were probably 25 offensive linemen who had better days

Yep . . . TE's that are old and slow simply aren't supposed to be open ALL the time! It's magical the way he does that!

I think so just because most guys who slow down do so because their athleticism starts to fade, and they rely on it. Witten has never relied on athleticism. He is just a student of the game and a fantastic route runner who understands defenses, and how to settle in the empty spots in a zone, or run his route to the open spot on the field.

He was a 20 year old rookie, and it won't surprise me to see him keep playing at his same level until he's 38 or 39.

It really is Bullflop, he goes down semi-easy, but he always finds the soft spot of the opposing D. He doesn't use pure athleticism like Tony Gonz did, Antonio Gates, Gronk and their ilk. He finds the open part of the field. Dak has been nailing this guy on those wonderful scrambles and bootlegs with precision and regularity. Witten's work load has not faltered with Dak in there.

How 'bout that straight arm on Derron Smith (Bengals) lol. Dude is a warrior. :)

Wittens still good but the downfield stuff we saw from him against Cleveland is not something we can rely on.

I really hope we get a athletic TE this offeseason that can do some things down the field because you see how big it could be for us if we had a player that could consistently do that.

Deep class of TE talent in this year's class of course IMO this cannot be a first rd pick with our lack of pass rush.
I am curious about what has happened to James Hanna he seems about three weeks overdue... anyone have info on him? Setback?

Just make sure we draft his replacement

If it can't be a first round pick then let's make it a 2nd rounder, that always turns out well.

Actually two of the three TE's with most Cowboy receptions were 3rd round picks.
