One bet-hedging report suggested an announcement on Monday, July 6. Fisher is hawking more details on his site, but until there's news, then there's no news.

Agent posturing comes from Florio not Cowboys posturing. The team goes through their local network mainly.

im in the camp that says no deal and he plays on the tag and he will not be near as committed which will not be good for the boys.

I've heard reports that one of the reasons that Dez is frustrated is that he REALLY needs the money right now, as if he's living on credit cards until the season starts.

He wants his deal asap because he needs it. (Which is another reason that it's absurd to think he'd sit out games.)

I think Stephen is reluctant of a long-term deal because he's afraid of what giving Dez a ton of guaranteed money will mean. ROC Nation sells its clients on the idea of being included in big parties with celebrities, girls, and all that that entails. As high-energy and emotional as Dez is, that could be a bad scene for him with a pocket full of money. Still, Jerry might do this against Stephen's wishes perhaps.

However, it also suggests that Dez' desperation might get Dallas a bargain on a longer term deal, too. That could be good.

I have no doubt the Cowboys are willing to give Dez a whole lot of money over the next several years. They just don't want to guarantee it up front. They want it to basically operate mostly like a bunch of franchise tag years.

My gut is, he gets signed. Jerry wants a splash before camp.

I have been telling folks this for months. we may not get the same Dez we have seen in years past. he's human. he has feelings like we all do. the cowboys are about to make another big mistake. just like they did when they let Murray go.

well I hope every one is right I hope a deal gets done because it will sure help the boys, but if it don't they will not get the same dez and without a very motivated dez and not murry I don't think they return to the playoffs. I afraid we all will be very disappointed.

What comes first: Greg Hardy Decision or Dez Bryant Deal

Easily Dez which is less than a week away. After the 15th, it doesn't really matter if he doesn't sign his tender. Hardy's decision will come at some point in August, probably as close to the start of the season as possible.

Goodell/NFL are doing all they can to get him to serve those 10 games or as close to it as possible.

so you're saying Dez will get a new deal in the next 6 days?

July 15th is Dez' deadline. The Cowboys' deadline isn't until July 15th next year.

Dez is tired of this dragging this on, and word is, he needs the cash. Player paychecks don't resume until after Week 1 in mid September.

I think it gets done next week at a slight discount because I think Jerry gets involved. Stephen is the hardball negotiator.

so Dez has made what 6 mil in 4 years and it is all gone ??
Poor guy having to get by on a measly 1.5 mil a year ! Thats awful.

But if he is broke he might go ahead and sign the tag, but may not cave on the other contract.
i dont think FO caves either.
