Packers linebacker A.J. Hawk created a bit of a controversy last month when he said player-organized lockout workouts were a “disaster.” Now Hawk has waded into that subject again.

Hawk says that while some teams might need player-organized workouts, the Packers don’t because the key players on the 2011 roster will be the same as the key players on the 2010 roster, and they all already know their playbooks.

My views: We will see, I still feel that you have to be physically tough, and that comes from offseason workouts, and training camp. Because your body gets soft if you dont keep up the work, your muscle mass detoriates. Someone posted about such an item on this board awhile back.

Example, cowboys were tough coming off of 2006 season, and went far, but I feel that the players got soft not doing their work and it caught up with them in the playoff loss to the giants in 2007.

How does doing 7 on 7 drills at half speed in shorts and t-shirts in May with no coaches around make you "tough"

If anything, since the Packers were playing in Februrary, they need more time to allow their bodies to recover.

Have you been to Texas? Sprints and drills outside in 105 degrees is no joke. Sure beats doing nothing.
