Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Miles Austin, a restricted free agent, hasn’t visited the New York Jets as of today, according to Ohm Youngmisuk of the New York Daily News.
However, the Jets reportedly are still planning to sit down with Austin.
If the Jets submit a contract offer sheet to Austin, the Cowboys hold the right of first refusal to match the contract.
Should the Cowboys opt to not match an offer sheet, which they have a week to do under NFL rules governing restricted free agents, then they would receive a second-round draft pick as compensation.
Austin was assigned the second-round tender by the Cowboys, and is due to make $1.545 million this season.
A former standout at Monmouth (N.J.), Austin caught 13 passes for 278 yards and three touchdowns last season.
